On February 20, 2017, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine and Christopher O'Neill attend the official welcoming ceremony for the Governor General of Canada David Johnston and his wife Sharon Johnston at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden. David Johnston's four-day State Visit will encompass Stockholm, Malmoe, Lund and Gothenburg. |
Sofia's dress is nice but that thing in her hair is horrible. Madeleine has a good dress but I dont like the black things near her neck.
ReplyDeleteThe queen looks good and apropriate.
Everyone looks very nice (Madeleine's dress is a lovely touch of spring).
ReplyDeleteGo Canada!
Oh, I like Sofia´s dress in all its simplicity. That´s a very flattering cut, and if something fits and suits her so well, there´s no need for any embellishments or accessories.
ReplyDeleteMadeleine looks nice too, and the print is interesting. The black flowers are totally unnecessary and tacky though and should be removed. The black line I can understand but not its placement (makes her look juvenile or pregnant). Make it a proper waistline (i.e. lower it by like 5cm) and I´m onboard. And thinking of it, the black line looks a bit harsh; if it had been dark gray like some of the flowers on her dress, I think it would look more coherent.
I Like Madeleine's dress but indeed those black flowers make the dress look busy. Her hair in the other hand looks amazing :)
DeleteI like Madeleine's dress with spring roses but for me this black stockings aren't the best choice, they are too havy (that's why the dress looks better on the model). Sofia's outfit is nice but a little bit out of colour so she wanted to blush it up with golden flowers in her hair for which I think isn't helping her but the earings are nice.
ReplyDeleteSilvia is proper and elegant, Madeleine is radiant though I guess her dress should be an inch or two more and I also don't really get those two black flowers. I agree she looks a bit girlish or pregnant with the two black empire waist lines but I also see it adds interest to the whole piece.
ReplyDeleteSofia's dress is bice and proper and a perfect lenght but the flutter sleeves just don't look good and the blush colour with the matching accessories is too spring-y (just as the same colour was recently too spring-y for a lot of commenters on other ladies - MM and Letizia come to my mind right now). And that hairpiece is an expensive EVENING/occasion piece which is absolutely out of place at this daytime event. I don't even get why nobody told her to remove it before they began the welcoming ceremony.
All ladies look great.
ReplyDeleteSilvia elegant and lovely as always.
Sofia's dress was simple, well-fitting and appropriate. I would have added brooch to bring some color but overall very good look.
Madeleine's dress was recycled. Its very lovely dress, flower pattern brings spring to my mind. Her hair...wowwww.
No Victoria and Daniel?
Victoria and Daniel plus kids are on vacation out of country and have been for quite some time.
DeleteMadeleine's dress is a repeat and I didn't like the black decorations at the neckline when she wore the dress before and I still don't like them. Those black decorations distract from an otherwise very pretty dress.
DeleteSo glad to see them all considering #45 was tweeting a terrorist attack had been carried out in Sweden.
ReplyDeleteSorry I just could NOT resist 😒😛
I am however not feeling one way or the other about the attire. Issues all around.

DeleteHaha about #45, the orange baboon.
DeleteBahahaaa oh if this wasn't so worrisome he would be comic relief #45
DeleteWhat President Trump said was not too far from the truth. Maybe that's why Victoria has no been around?
DeleteDo not worry, Swedish are lucky enough to have special forces to terrorist hunt!

I do think that Sofia could have done without that decor in her hair which is for the evening, but beyond that I must say that her hair style, earrings, dress, shoes and handbag are at the level of royalty that she has married into. It's taken her a while to get there, but she has certainly arrived. And glad to see Madeleine and Chris flew in from London for this occasion. They both look very happy. And Chris also looks more relaxed. Today they are celebrating Leonore's birthday with her maternal grandparents.
ReplyDeleteSofia's jewels look like the CP Mary's headpiece. It really doesspeak evening to me. Cheers to my anticipation of this headpiece's future use!!
ReplyDeleteThey all look lovely. I actually love Sofia's headpiece but I am a fan of Ole Lynggaard and happy to see their pieces at any time. Chris looks so much better clean shaven and I find him very handsome. Madeleine's dress fabric is beautiful--black floral accents at neckline draw attention to her face.
ReplyDeleteThe King is smiling! They all look great. I believe Madeleine is one of the most beautiful ladies in the world. But indeed the dress would have been better without the two black flowers at the top. Sofia's dress is very nice as well.
ReplyDeleteStill the fur-coat, your Majesty? Nao precisam, e 2017. E triste. Bitte nicht mehr vorzeigen... The blue costume makes a "tired" look, sorry. A light spring color would suit you much better. Princess Madeleine looks a bit pregnant in that overstyled dress, and Sofia should just ditch that hair-style and the jewels and wait for the evening. And who recommended that dress? It's perfect for a baptism.
ReplyDeletePrincess Madeleine I think looks radiant. And in the USA saying that means only one thing. Preggers again. I really thinks she's in a family way again. Look at the formal evening pictures. She was the voluptous look of early days.

ReplyDeleteWhy does everybody keep on saying how well this dress suits Sofia?? In my eyes it does not fit well. I like the A-line sixties inspired style, I like the color, and this style of 3/4 sleeves, we call it a trumpet sleeve, is okay with that style. But - it does not fit well. Neckline and shoulders are okay, but it is too tight over the bust, the upper part of the sleeves and the waist are too wide. And what is this middle line? Is it meant to be like this or is it just badly sewed, as is the hemline? There was a good intention behind this, but a poor completion. To complete the look, it would have needed other shoes and the headpiece is not needed at all.
ReplyDeleteSofia looks lovely and youthful. I don't care for Madeleine's dress, but she's glowing. Where are Victoria and Daniel? Sofia also had a baby after Victoria and she is gone to various events.
Where is Crown Princess Victoria? It's been 2 months since her last appearance...
ReplyDeleteBoth Princess Sofia and Princess Madeleine look very smart and elegant. Feel the spirit of spring with Princess Madeleine dress.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia, a little bit stuffy color, Madeline would look very good without those black flowers, Sofia I like most. Ole Lynggaard hair piece is little bit too much but I love all the Lynggaard jewels always.
