I am looking forward to the positive fashion impact that I believe the Trump women will have on our country. Ivanka's outfit is lovely and well coordinated colors.
Melania and Ivanka dress very well but many other women also. There are women in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and other big cities who have superb taste in clothes. We my husband and I are very often in USA and we can see that.
It is easy when you do not post questions like yours. Politics has no foot hold if you do not give it one. You can like someones fashion with out going much deeper, there are other venues for that.
Agree ! A first glance it looked as if her hair had been 'dipped' but on closure inspection looks like it's been colour streaked. Not Rania's best hair look !
I feel it to be very sad when we look for appearance as a way of improving a country. Nothing wrong with looking good but botox, plastic surgery, housekeepers, daily gym visits, nannies and you name it is not for the average human being. That is however how the Trump women looks so good. I sure hope we see less of them on this page. Everyone needs to be respected for their styles as long as it does not hurt others. What we need to look for is substance. Only time will tell.
Monica, all what you said it is for average people not only for billioners. Plenty of people have botox done , plastic surgery, have maids and gardeners and nannies for children and gym visits and beauty salons. That is nothing extra ordinary . People who are working they don"t have time to iron or clean their places or take care of garden or cut the grass or take care of children all day long. And every woman wants to look good and young as long as it is possible. And it is nothing wrong with that. It does not mean that such a people are without substance.
If you don´t want to look for appearances, you are wrong here on this site that discusses fashion and appearance. Also, no-one suggests that a country is improved by appearance. (I don´t even know what that´s supposed to mean?) Almost all people want to look good, that´s only natural. And what´s wrong with daily gym visits? Botox and plastic surgery is not a good thing, but: it is commonplace amongst celebrities and also royalty, and it doesn´t make sense to criticize one indidvidual for (alleged) procedures while accepting it in all others. Housekeepers and nannies have nothing to do with one´s looks, but again, if you want to critizise someone for having staff around the house - please recognize that many people have personal staff, and especially royal households. I don´t understand what you mean by "Everyone needs to be respected by their styles as long as it does not hurt others". I cannot see how anyone´s style or respect thereof would hurt anyone else. I can only see your serious dislike for the Trump family shine through every sentence you wrote, which, ironically, is rather close to the kind of personal attack and superficial conduct without substance that you are advocating against (I think you are, at least that´s what I get from your post). Think about it.
The Trump have a staff to be sure, but all working royals have a staff (even if only part time). I only see positive similarities between the Trump Women, so called, and Royal women and even other First Presidential families. If you want a blog that is focused only on substance, and not the enjoyment of following royal's fashion and events, look on another blog for philanthropy or community service. This is a lovely and well kept up blog for following Royal on their life's happenings. The "Trump Women" will be serving their respective countries and if the Blog Writer would like to post them when they are wearing something lovely I would love to come here and see it. This was a great post.
Diane, I seem to be following you around this blog tonight, lol. In reference to the comments above, I really hope we can keep current politics out of the blog. (It has been a complicated last few months in North America). This is a venue for us to escape from "real" world news and indulge in a bit of Disney Princess fantasy.
Love Ivanka. She looks fabulous. My husband has met her several times due to work engagements and she is very nice, personable and easy to speak with. Always stylish and classy.
I don't particularly like Ivanka Trump or sympathyse with the Trumps in general but that doesn't stop me from saying she normally looks polished and her outfits suggest she has a good (if not perfect) style. I've never been to the US so I have no real life experience but from what I can see when I catch a photo or a report or newsfeed where regular/normal/average women from the US can be seen or when I meet an average US tourist here in Europe I have the impression that style is not one thing easily found amongst them. Of course when you walk in Manhattan or downtown SF you have a 182% more chance to meet stylish women but I hardly believe that's the american average. Don't get me wrong, MOST women in my country (Central Europe) have TERRIBLE style. Or none at all. The more you remove yourself from the capital and the older the women, the worse it gets. Now that someone mentioned it, I also see Rania's hair is a bit too long. And the highlights could be softer, less contrasting.
The streaks, or whatever, in Rania's hair do look poorly done and a bit cheap, as Beth said. This is not a style (and the straggly length either) that is appropriate for a business meeting.

DeleteWe my husband and I are very often in USA and we can see that.
But of course Ivanka Trump, woman with impeccable taste!
ReplyDeleteQueen Rania very seldom wears the clothes to my taste.
Dilemma. How do you separate the political from the fashion?
ReplyDeleteAnd why should you? Both go very well together.
DeleteIt´s possible (and even desirable) to appreciate the outfit of a person without judging the person for who he or she is.

DeleteIvankas dress is beautiful and so is her whole appearance. I especially like her shoes with the moderate heel. I am so tired of stiletto heels.
ReplyDeleteRania looks good here, but I am not a fan of her hair, it is too long (in my eyes) and the blonde strands look cheap.

DeleteVery well said. Queen Rania looks wonderful and is a true woman of substance - in words and action.
ReplyDeleteVery well said. Queen Rania is a true woman of substance in both words and actions. She looks lovely as usual.
ReplyDeleteI for one will not comment on any of it except to say that as an American the meeting is disturbing for many reasons.
ReplyDeleteI have my reasons. Please no haters.

I totally agree. Ergo I cannot comment too much on a "meeting" bwt the two. I think Ivanka has great style. That is all
