The Crown Princess arrived at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on December 9, 2016, to meet with Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on the occasion of her 53rd birthday. Crown Princess Masako of Japan, born Owada on 9 December 1963, is the wife of Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan. She is a member of the Imperial House of Japan through marriage.     I don't think the rigid formality of life in the Japanese Court would be an easy life to adapt to. No matter how well adjusted anyone was in the "real world", entering Japanese Royal life would be a phenomenal shock. Crown Princess Masako must be an incredibly strong woman.
