Make up, hairdo and of course jewellery all nice but the style of dress/top and skirt ?
ReplyDeleteWhat a strange combination of colors and fabrics.
Blinking blinking 👀👀👀
ReplyDeleteThe brown middle section from afar looks like she is wearing a box that is wider than her hips. It gives the illusion of being totally disportionate.
She is still gorgeous per usual.
Oh that mid section is bad. Bad. Really bad.
I agree that the mid section is sort of out of place. But I absolutely adore the jewellery: it's amazing.
DeleteAgree, agree, that brown 'thingy' is horrible, in color and style. It looks like a box planted on the dress. What's it for?
DeleteLooks like she took the skirt fron another dress (she had one from a concert days before she bacame queen) and up from another dress....hair and jewelry absolutly fantastic but the dress its a no no
DeleteIf the dress was all in green color as her top and with the same jewellery she would look really nice.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous necklace&earrings and lovely hair. Navy blue and emerald green generally go well together but this dress... I don't know if it's the terrible brown sash on her waist or the unproportionately large bell skirt but it doesn't work. Of course I still adore our dear Máx but this is not the best we've seen her in.
ReplyDeleteThe green top is beautiful with the emerald jewelry and the colour suits her really well. I am also okay with the colour of the skirt. It's a nice colourblocking with the top. But the cut?? Much too bulky. Does it stand by itself like one of the old crinolines :-)) And the material? Kind of break-through velevet? No! and let's not mention the enormous belt....
ReplyDeleteThat brown part is very weird, but I love her emeralds.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is ghastly! The color block is not right for this design. She has much nicer dresses shame about this one!
ReplyDeleteThis dresss would look better without the brown around the middle for sure but I think the colors on the model look much better in two shades of blue..
ReplyDeleteI agree with the two shades of blue with the model. Also the lower wasitline is much better there. But still the skirt is kind too bulky.
DeleteYou are right Linda about the colors on model , not bad look with two shades of blue.
DeleteNatan must treat their clientele well. Maxima, Mathilde and Maria Theresa seem loyal no matter what odd quirks happen. The way the sheen of the green fabric on top photographed in bright frontal light (like flash photography) should have been foreseen by the designer. I don't mind the color combinations but foresight was lacking.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure, if Natan really treats their clientele well, sometimes I think, they hate women ;-)))) Must be other reasaons, why the Benelux ladies stick to them.
DeleteAnd yes you are right, a High Fashion designer should forsee, how a dress works with flashlight.
Funny comment Beth :-) Perhaps the staff of Natan has demonstrated discretion? Maybe relationships have built up over time. Hard to know for sure.
DeleteThe predictable usual same "fashion critics" coming out again, you all must have a boring life tsk tsk tsk!!!!!!.
ReplyDeleteWell then Ronald are you bored? You are here with us?
DeleteIt is a fashion blog. We discuss fashion. Fashion you know clothes, hair, shoes, accessories, trends and the like.
Btw you never comment so are you lost here? We all love fashion. Sometimes we bicker with each other as we disagree but generally this is a fun group and we get along well and have fun.
We might be "critical" of someone who just makes a random tacky comment about us "fashion critics".
Well @ Ronald Biver, this is a Fashion Blog, so you should expect some "fashion critics" here, sometimes positive, sometimes with critical but well-meaning comments. Don't you worry, our life is not boring and 'fashion' is fun :-))
ReplyDeleteMaxima in herself looks gorgeous and her jewellery is STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteIf only gown had been all green, all black, or just something other than the gown she is wearing, such a shame.
Any info on the necklace? I like it all... Color, use of 'old' skirt, hair is great. I think the style, color, etc. Is to work with the jewellery. Not always easy, and she takes great care to do so.
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is a combination of queen.juliana jewels...it can be worn as broche or nacklace and the huge emerald can be taken off; sometimes i think maxima must have a great fun going through the nassau orange safe to choose what to wear 😁
DeleteI think she can't go wrong for me even if she does for everyone else. The brown doesn't look good in some photos but I'm sure she was stunning in person. She's my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThis dress would have been OK with just the different bodice (as shown in the Natan photo). The brown belt is just too much, not only the colour, but the size and pleated shape make her look fat. Also, we are treated to Natan's famous tea cosy stiff skirt shape (again).
