On November 29, 2016, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, Princess Beatrix, Princess Margriet, Prince Constantijn and his wife Princess Laurentien of The Netherlands attended a concert at the Centre for Fine Arts (BOZAR) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. |
Mathilde's red bag is not the right color to go with the gown
ReplyDeleteAlles match met koningin Mathilde's avond toilet. Iedereen op de foto's zien er heel statig uit.
DeleteOh but she is wearing her tiara around her neck! Gorgeous!
DeleteTrue. But the dress is beautiful.
DeleteAs for Maxima: I thought that tights and sandals are a total no go? And she could do with a little bit more support under this gown.
I think it does IRL, but red satin bag takes flash light badly and appears here in pictures as different color.
DeleteMathilde is just WOW! Beautiful dress and magnificent jewels, tiara as necklace. About Maxima, lovely tutti frutti jewels (emerald, ruby, sapphire) but the gown is big disappointment, too short, not any becoming color and far too open to any queen.
DeleteI love Mathilde's dress. Very regal and the colour is lovely on her. (I didn't notice the bag until now. Too big).
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Maxima's strapless dress or her shoes. Is she wearing one shawl and carrying another?
its Queen Mathilde for me again this time. Demure, with an exactly enough bling.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for Maxima's shoes or the shape of the dress, especially the top. Mathilde wins this one, more elegant.
ReplyDeleteMathilde looks stunning! Her dress is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMathilde can deliver when she tries, superb (except for the clutch, but that is neither her nor there considering the gown and the jewels).
ReplyDeleteA fail for Maxima in my opinion. Maxima has worn this gown before and has looked beautiful, however this outing is not one of its best. I am not a fan of the Maxima's Tutti Frutti necklace (no matter what it is worn with) and the sandals are so very, very wrong (time of year) and colour, just a big No!
Well....Maxima.... a maturing woman in her mid-forties, wearing a too low bandeau top strapless beach party dress with mismatching sandals, a so-called 'statement' necklace - "Tutti-Frutti necklace" - thanks for that @ It's me! ;-)))), a spray-tan look with purple lipstick and blond extensions???? 😱 Nope! As I am usually a great fan of Maxima's eccentric style, I am not going to say what I think about this!
ReplyDeleteSo-called "statement" necklace? It is actually rather old piece, about hundred years old. Those Tutti-Frutti (all fruits, that is mostly emeralds, rubies and sapphires) jewels were very popular then. Made mostly by Cartier and other high jewelers. This necklace and bracelet were supposedly gift from Willem Alexander to his wife about ten years ago Pieces were bought from Christie´s auction. We even know the price what was about $70 000.
DeleteNot sure about Maxima here....again. Those shoes are just wrong with that dress. Not a fan of the fruit salad around her neck either.
ReplyDeleteMathilde looks wonderful ~ except for that clutch.
Qui a dit à Maxima qu'ils allaient à la plage ?
ReplyDeleteMy opinion Queen Maxima is always overdue it. She never dresses chic and stylish. She always go overboard with dresses, jewelries and hats. Maybe it fits her personality, but at this event 10 out of 10 for Queen Mathilde.
ReplyDeleteOh mein Gott, die Schuhe von Maxima - das ist ein no go.
ReplyDeleteLaurentien's hair is stunning again, was always, part Diana, and still modern. If only
ReplyDeletemore royal ladies will cut + style their hair like her's
