On October 5, 2016, Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg visited the exhibition of "Nero – Emperor, Artist and Tyrant" (Nero – Kaiser, Künstler und Tyrann) at Museum of Archaeology (Rheinisches Landesmuseum) in Trier. |
Send the girl to a proper stylist and a proper hairdresser. This is awful.
ReplyDeleteHow is it that Stephanie manage to look so dowdy?
ReplyDeleteShe's wearing lovely jacket but those too-wide-too-long pants and her flabby blouse looks all wrong with it, so her overall look is that of a woman who's short and plump. Not even going to mention her hair.
Thumbs down!
Dowdy is the exact word I was using when I saw her.
Deletethis woman is lovely and a lovely face but I think she really needs a stylist. when you are a public person it is the minimum you can do to dress perfect (or almost)
ReplyDeleteA stylist or personal shopper, is just what's needed. It's such a shame, she's an attractive young woman !
ReplyDeleteAgain.
ReplyDeleteThe pants are ill fitted. Too long. Too big. The shirt is wackadoodle. The jacket is too short and makes her look wider. She has a PINK PLASTIC CLIP IN HER HAIR.
Her Mother in Law is far more chic.
I do not understand why she does not notice these things. Does she not have mirrors? I am not saying she has to be a trendsetter. She obviously is not much into fashion. But one does not have to be a clothes horse to still dress appropriately as in fitted clothes. It is really kind of embarassing.
I wonder what the papers say about her fashion in Luxembourg or even Belgium.
Anyone want to start a GoFundMe and ship her off to Maxima or Mathilde or Mary or Kate or Letizia or Charlene or Michele Obama? LOL she needs a make over.
Is she not getting worse? Sad. Just sad.
There's definitely something wrong with her and her husband. His reddish face is a bad sign too.
DeleteThe outfit is bad, that shows lack of style, which is sad but still acceptable.
DeleteBut that awful plastic clip and uncombed hair is embarassing for a royal. I wear such clips when I cook and wash my face, haha.
Every time Stephanie shows up at an event in this rather disheveled state I think, "perhaps she is expecting?" That condition can throw off usual grooming. It happened with Victoria of Sweden for a brief time early in her pregnancy with Estelle. It is understandable. Stephanie & Guillaume's 4th wedding anniversary is this month. I just don't know what to think anymore.
DeleteMe too Lassie! I have them in every color! But not to wear out to a function such as this... lol
DeleteThe funny thing with Stéphanie is that in the beginning when she just got engaged she was dressing far more elegant and sophisticated, but now....; Perhaps she learned from her husband because he has always looked like a grandpa.
ReplyDeleteTo Diana Brown
ReplyDeletePapers here in Belgium hardly know she exists, we're not that "Royals", and in luxemlburg, they appreciate other things in people: kindness, intelligencce, warm hearts really warm
Well yes Gabrielle obviously kindness, intelligence and warmth are wonderful and I do not beseech her those. But she is the 'next up' and she really needs a stylist. I am not saying she is unkind or a dimwit or without heart. Her smile says she is all of these things and I know she is highly educated. I just think something is off.
DeleteThanks for a reply 😊
Why is almost everybody here so wildly determined to declare her a warm-hearted person? Where are the charities she's engaged in to prove that statement? On the "Luxarazzi" blog I read that Tessy has meanwhile founded her own charity/NGO. Stephanie's balance sheet is rather empty after 4 years of marriage.
DeleteShe's certainly intelligent (master's degree), but she doesn't make any use of her capacities.
This is getting a bit concerning. Her hair is absolutely unkempt. The mess at the back with the clip is bizarre. At least it looks clean. The pants are positively weird. I like Stephanie's smile and she actually has a nice figure and gentle appeal (to me). But episodes like this one do make me wonder about her judgement. Really, what do you all think is going on?
ReplyDeleteThe exhibition is in TRIER not in Bonn
ReplyDeleteThe clip in her hair is really very, very casual...
ReplyDeleteI try to be nice, however, it's not possible when looking at Stephanie in the above pictures. She cuts a very poor figure, her hairstyle is truly awful. Don't get me wrong, I think she's a lovely, well-spirited and warm-hearted person, but her style is... bad. Sorry to say.
ReplyDeleteUne catastrophe !!!
ReplyDeleteThey look like an older couple...
ReplyDeleteShe is my favourit royal whatever she wears.
ReplyDeleteI am speechless, both of them look ... not right
ReplyDeleteLeave the poor girl alone.
ReplyDeleteShe might not be the "perfect princess" but none of us know what is going on in her private, yet very public life.
As a couple they could be having difficulties trying to conceive a child. Generally noble families are expected to pop out an heir ASAP and they haven't. Heaven alone knows what difficulties they may be having in their private lives, yet they still have to put on a bright cheery public face.
Stephanie could also still be mourning the loss of her Mother. As a young woman our Mothers are our greatest supporters, confidantes and backstops, while I imagine the Grand Duchess is tremendous support, it isn't the same as the love and support one would receive from one’s own Mother.
The whole look is a disaster. She has gained some weight, so what? She shouldn't try to hide it behind that suffocating amount of fabric: too wide trousers, frilly-bow-y loose blouse. The jacket is probably the only piece that gets a pass, though it's not a hit either, to tell the truth. And the plastic clips are ugly, no matter what some people (not you :) say. I used to wear those in public when I pulled out the dustbin to the street in front of our home.
DeleteShe has a pair of legs to die for, she should show those all the time in tailored, fitted knee lenght dresses with longer sleeves. A bit of weight around her tummy doesn't mean the end of the world, look at her mother in law! Also, most of the girls would give a lot to have that long, shiny blond hair of hers.
I agree both having difficulties conceiving and the loss of a parent can be devastating and can stall one's life for years. This is however a fashion blog so no wonder people comment on her clothes and her style. It doesn't mean we don't feel sympathy at the same time and have some kind of compassion for her as a (supposedly) struggling human being.
That being said, she could take some time off. Crown Princess Masako did it for long years (!) because of depression and anxiety and nobody had a bad word.
You are right that the loss of a Mother can throw off an entire being for a young woman. And infertility issues can be devastating. And we don't know either of them, really. Appearance is just one thing we can see. Will hope for the best for them.
ReplyDeleteNo, Stephanie is not a "glam " person, she is not stylish, she makes a lot of mistakes when dressing, even when dressing up, but I answered Dianas question : "Wwhat do papers in Luwemburg or Belgium say?" : "Not much" :)
ReplyDeleteWe have discussed many times that there may be some infertility issues with the couple. However, Stephanie herself has said on many occasions going back the last 4 yrs that she would prefer to wait for a few yrs to have children. I know the press likes to compare her with Tessy and particularily with Claire. Frankly, children aside on the surface they seem more amenable to royal life. More comfortable. Even their spouses...on the surface seem so. But I have also read that Stephanie is held in very high regard by the people. As Gabrielle stated "fashion and royals is not much thought about".
ReplyDeleteStill I believe that something is not quite right. Both of them continue to appear in strange clothing, physically they look odd at times. I am not talking weight but just something is not right. I hope one of them is not ill. I have been looking back at pictures and Stephanie was quite elegant and well dressed for at least the first 2 yrs ans then somwthing took a turn. I am not sure we can say this is due to the loss of her Mother. I of course am not taking from that as well our Mothers are the vein of our life. I know it can take a toll. Stephanoe was the baby of 8 so I suspect they were very close. At any rate I think her lack of caring is showing up. I can overlook ill fitted clothes ( a little) but a PINK PLASTIC CLIP with a very messy hairstyle is just tacky. These people have people around them and it is hard to believe that MT would not say something. Go back and look for pictures the last 2 yrs. It is shocking to see the spiral.
I really hope something is not terribly wrong with one of them. It is sad to me.
