  1. This may well be well-tailored and expensive and of good material, but the overall effect is ´gym outfit´.

  2. What IS that on her? A tracksuit bottom??? No. No, no, no. I think with a white shirt or blouse it would look better or even chic but with this top it's just a tracksuit bottom with a plain black T-shirt tucked in.
Her hair is lovely and the earrings too and of course she looks polished overall but still, those trusers...

  3. Obviously she was running late and forgot she was still in her gym pants? Omgoodness

From the head to the waist is lovely.

  6. J'aime beaucoup la tenue de la dame à droite de la reine sur la première photo. Par contre, je n'aime pas vraiment celle de la reine. On dirait que le pantalon est un survêtement d'exercice!

  7. I'm convinced that Letizia is trying to be a "celebrity" queen. All of the outfits that she wears or better yet trying to wear is all items that are currently on trend right now. She wants to be known in the fashion magazines as the queen who's so trendy and cool because she's wearing all this stuff that's in style. It's not working for her. She looks way better when she sticks to timeless, elegant pieces. Being a queen is what makes her unique and special but when she dresses like that she just looks like an ordinary "celebrity".

    1. I totally get why you have this impression but I can't be convinced myself. To the contrary, instead of seeing a fashion forward person's picks, sometimes I think her taste has this crawling back to the '90s. And this wouldn't necessarily mean a total horror, there were lovely trends in the '90s but it wasn't a "perfect" decade in fashion either and even if she picked completely harmless trends from those years, they still look outdated. I don't know, the lines of some of her trousers, mainly those suit trousers she wears; some of her suit jackets; sometimes a dress like the black spaghetti strap piece she wore a couple of days ago. Can't really explain or define it. She has such a lovely delicate figure (yes, too bony for my taste but still I think it's lovely) so she could wear basically anything and it would look great on her - I miss a bit of daring, some fashion boldness a lá Rania or Máxima. I also know she has a way smaller budget to spend on clothing but hey, instead of buying 3 Varela dresses she could buy one from a better designer. I understand Varela is Spanish but there must be other good designers in Spain.

    2. ZL, it's funny that you mention her style looks 90's to you. If you follow the fashion world and their new collections that have been released almost everything is a throwback to the 90's. It's all coming back in style.. It's obvious Letizia knows what's on trend.

    3. Not everything what is in fashion or trendy is nice or beautiful !

    4. You are right Penelope, I may only add that these are years in fashion when almost everything is a throwback, not only to the '90s but to the '70s, '60...
Still, as Kristina says not everything fashionable is nice and/or suiting.

    5. Well duh that not everything thats in style does not look good. I think you're both confused about what I'm saying. I'm not saying that what Letizia is wearing looks nice. On the contrary, I believe that Letizia thinks that if she follows every style and trend that it's somehow going to make her out as this stylish celebrity type queen who people will talk about. I don't think it's working for her.

    6. @ Penelope, first of all we do not know what Queen Letizia thinks . Do you know her personally, did you talk about fashion with her over cup of coffee?
How can you write such a comment?

  8. These are glorified track suit pants. Dreadful, disrespectful and insulting to the attendees, all of whom are better dressed than the Queen of Spain. I thought Letizia was intelligent enough not to fall for "on trend" when it is clearly inappropriate.

  9. Not even Angie will give this outfit an A. I think she looks OK and is trendy etc. but is not appropriate for an audience. Too casual.

  10. Sorry but this outfit looks to casual for an audience and not suitable for the queen. Those trouses would look more suitable at some sporting event!

  11. Great hair, pretty earring but the pants look like track pants- a big no!

No importa. Aunque los pantalones no son bonitos, Letizia está guapísima con su hermosa sonrisa, su aspecto moderno y dinámico y su espléndido cabello.

  13. She may be trying at some style and it's too casual as usual but she is not elegant.
