I am not crazy about that dress but with some kind of belt the dress maybe would look nice.
ReplyDeleteI do like her suede shoes .
Totally agree! A belt would polish it off. It seems to be saggy or droopy? Kate Spade though? Love that she tried the brand. The current style is very much taking a retro turn. She looks good though. Hair is very nice!
DeleteC'est ce que je me suis dit aussi. On dirait effectivement qu'il manque une ceinture.
DeleteOutdated print, badly cut, waistline and hem lift when she waves. Bow at her troath looks silly. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid..
ReplyDeleteNot keen at all on the dress ! @Kristina might have a point, maybe a belt might have brought something to the outfit. It doesn't seem to sit well, on either DOC or the model, it looks like it's riding up in the front.
ReplyDeleteWhy a young woman in her early thirties wears a dress that her own grandma would refuse to wear? Catherine looks her best in streamlined cuts in strong, vibrant colours. The frilly frou-frou dresses do nothing for her.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress ! It definetly doesn't need a belt , it's too delicate for that. Oldish? No way! Romantic? Yes , it is. It's the duchess style , why criticize? It suits her peefectly and i love the whole outfit !
ReplyDeleteElle a mis la ceinture de la robe autour du cou ...donc il manque bien une ceinture à sa robe.
ReplyDeleteBien vu!
DeleteFrumpy look and the cool pastel color does nothing for Kate.
ReplyDeleteI don´t mind the colour/pattern nor the material. Length is good too. But the fit!!! This looks like a homesewn project, totally lacking structure. It fits poorly and is clearly not ideal for her body type anyway. Even if the waistline was where it´s meant to be and the whole thing didn´t pull up as she moved her arms - the top still needed a total make-over. I´d get rid of the bow, the collar, the button-down style shirt look (including the cuffs), and instead open up the neckline, turn it into a tunic-style feminine look and then add a defining, dark (aubergine?) belt to it.
ReplyDeleteThis dress needs a belt! I am really surprised her stylist let her go out without a belt cinched tightly around her waist. It looks like the picture with the model wearing it shows a tie belt around the waist. I think a nice wide belt would have been really good.
ReplyDeleteTo amend my previous comments about this dress needs a belt. I noticed that Catherine is wearing a tie at the neckline of this dress. The picture of the model wearing the dress does not. It is my belief that Catherine took the tie belt for this dress and used it as a tie around the neck instead of using it as the belt for this dress. Big mistake! The dress needs a belt!
ReplyDeleteKate Spade struck out with this dress and I am sorry that Kate chose it. Dowdy, old-fashioned and not flattering. A rare departure from Kate's generally striking wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI am not usually a fan of Kate's hair when it is worn down, however it looks lovely in these photos. Alas like everyone else I wonder why the "Mumsy" dress. Kate is way too young to be wearing such a dress.
