In the evening of October 27, 2016, Thursday, King Harald of Norway and Queen Sonja of Norway held a dinner for the "Members of Parliament" at Oslo Royal Palace. The gala dinner was attended by Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid of Norway. |
It looks like 3 of them decided not to look into the mirror before going to dinner that evening.

DeleteQueen Sonja daytime style is what I consider normally quite elegant, however in my opinion some of her gowns are dreadful and this one is one of them!
ReplyDeleteYou are right!
DeleteFrou-frou, way too much frou-frou.

ReplyDeleteI think Mette-Marit looks lovely. Navy blue and emerald green really go great together.
ReplyDeleteAs for Sonja, I don't think she didn't look in the mirror. I rather think she didn't look into a fashion magazine since 1987 or so. Though this one doesn't seem bad to me, it's actually a nice (if somewhat too busy) design. Yellow is a tricky colour, few people can pull it off and I think even less of those who have a fair skin. Maybe with less jewelry it would have looked better.
That overcoat of Princess Astrid is not so bad, her tiara's quite matching the whole ensemble. Crown Princess Mette-Marit gets a pass, but it's nothing to get enraptured about. Queen Sonja... no, no, no. Sorry, it might be suitable as a Halloween costume, perhaps, but not for a gala dinner.
