Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, Princess Catherine, Prince Harry and French President Francois Hollande and Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron attend the commemorations of the Centenary of the Battle of the Somme at the Thiepval monument, in Thiepval, near Amiens, France, 01 July 2016. The Battle of the Somme remains as one of the most deadly battles of the First World War (WWI). The Duchess wore a new bespoke lace dress for today's events |
Duchess Catherine looks perfect, her dress , hat , her face...everything!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, hate the hat
Deletelace dress this is not 1940s, she looks old and old fashioned
DeleteI think she looked beautiful. I don't like the collar on the dress but the rest is tres chic. She was obviously going for a vintage look. Yesterday at the sunset service she tossed in the pillbox hat....another vintage look. I like how she often adds a detail for the event. I love the hat too. She looked very beautiful.
Delete@sue,are you sitting under the rock????
DeleteAlso, there were the Duchess of Cornwall plus the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester present! Just for completeness.
ReplyDeleteYour first paragraph makes referece to Prince Charles' presence. To my knowledge, Prince Charles was not present at this solemn ceremony, but back home in the UK.
ReplyDeleteHe and Camilla made the trip for this event. They were there.
DeletePrince Charles can be seen in the fourth and second last photographs. He is wearing a blue suit.
ReplyDeleteAnd his medals
DeleteHahaaaaa lizzie... or were they wearing his? Haaaa
DeleteIt was touching to see representative's of all countries involved, being present today. DOC looked lovely !
ReplyDeleteI normally don't like to leave negative comments, however Kate's ensemble is one of the worst I have ever seen her wear. It is horrid!
ReplyDeleteCamilla is dress in a much more appropriate style and colour.
Wearing all those medals in civilian clothes look kind of funny. I am sure it is permissible but still I prefer medals on uniforms.
ReplyDeleteTenue de Kate qui n'est pas laide en soi mais qui est trop longue et lui donne inutilement et précocement un air trop vieux!
ReplyDeleteIts me and sue. Once again stupid comments. The duchess was dressed for the occasion, suitable to fit in with what happen 100 years ago. Do you know what happen? The Duchess is the best dress lady ever. But when you have two brain cells it is difficult to give recognition to a beautiful lady.
ReplyDeleteIF you wish to make Katherine a Princess, please do it correctly! She would be addressed as Princess William of Cambridge.
ReplyDeleteRe:her dress. It is beautiful, but she will never be a style icon like Diana, Princess Of Wales was. She tends to play it safe, except when she should. This was the rare exception. Nice to see her in a longer, fitted skirt and not giving everyone an eyeful.
