What an absolute treat, to have CP Frederick and CP Mary at Ascot today ! And by the looks of things, a good time was being had ! It was lovely to see them being welcomed and entertained by the Earl and Countess of Wessex, who I'm sure they know from their encounters at various Royal weddings ! Sophie and Mary both look lovely, and seemed to be getting into the spirit of the day :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way Sophie is friends with Scandinavian royals. Those ladies are having a good time.
ReplyDeleteLove Marys dress. Just wish they could throw these hats far far away. It's so overkill it hurts!
ReplyDeleteThen they would throw out all Ascot, hats and tails are The Thing there really. I love those hats myself.
DeleteI mean these kind of hats generally. Don't find them appealing at all. It's like the circus comes to town. A normal hat and some of the hairband fascinator I can understand. This No. Guess I'm to nordic. Hat is not normal for us 😂
DeleteLouise I am from Finland myself, and I really love these hats myself. I even make hats myself. There are of course different reasons to use hats, to us its is long wintertime to keep warm, in very south it is keeping calm, but hat can be so much more. These hats were before mostly called coctail hats. They make clothes more interesting and appearance stylish. I am sad we do not use lot of hats in Scandinavia.
DeleteMary the only royal with short sleeves and peek-a-boo cleavage? And Fred's top hat is too big for his head; the other men's hats fit much better.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I love the fashion show at Royal Ascot!
Lovely to see the danish royals at Royal Scot today!
ReplyDeleteSophie looks more lovlier as she gets older. Love her style. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMary looks also very lovely. Love the color and design of her dress. This kind of hat she wears seems to be very popular among royal ladies.
Mary's dress is way to simple for such an event and conparing to british royal ladies who are way more formal dressed.
ReplyDeleteThe Countess of Wessex looks fabulous !!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what about CP Mary but i could wear that dress at a stroll in downtown or going out for an icecream in the evening . She tried to make it elegant with the hat but they don't fit togheter. She look like a pore women next to the other royal ladies. So sorry for her this time. I'm sure she could wear a different dress for such a big event especially being a guest
ReplyDeleteYou are right about Mary, you can find this kind of dress in dozens in at H&M. Also her cleavage is a bit tacky, on some photo's you can even see her bra.
DeleteI saw no such photos of visible underwear on anyone, although I did see photos which had me wondering if one young lady was wearing a bra.
DeleteDifferent people have different sense of style. I love Sophie's style, I think she is very elegant most of the time, as is Mary. Kate's style to me is meh, to me, she looked like she was wearing a lace table cloth or curtains, but each to their own.
The Countess is looking lovely so often - she has found a lovely style and grace over the years. CP Mary looks stylish and elegant. Kate, could make she clothes look good if she had a better posture and presence. This will come with time. No doubt after she has been in the role for over 10 years like the others she will be just as confident.
ReplyDeletelove crown princess mary looking do good love tat sophie making friends with them
ReplyDeletecrown princess looks very elegant, she looks younger than duchess kate, kate needs to eat more and take very good care of her skin, she looks washed out!
ReplyDeletesue just the other way the crown princess looked washed out, totally incorrect dress for Ascot. The crown princess can take lesson from Duchess how to dress for an occasion.
