Dear Angie, don't u think it would be more appropriate for a queen to wear a jacket? I don't like this dress, I think it's very gothic and she wore it more than 15 times in the past 3 years.
I don't hate that dress, but it's not really my taste and, personally, I wouldn't wear something like that, so I agree with you on that. As for the jacket, I don't think there is a protocol rule that says the queen is not allowed to wear a sleeveless dress during a not-too-formal audience like this one (not to mention it's SO FRIKKIN HOT in Madrid right now, that I give her a pass just for that :P ). Also, it doesn't bother me that she wears the same pieces many times. In fact, given the state of the Spanish economy, if she were to wear a different outfit everytime she makes a public appearance, many people would jump on her throat and accuse her of wasting money, remind her that her income comes from the pockets of the Spanish people, and yadda, yadda, yadda... When you're in the public eye you just can't win so I'm all for, within certain limits, letting her wear whatever she wants.
Stunning couple. Want that dress!!!

DeleteI love the dress! And a little arm showing is totally appropriate for a Queen. She looks fabulous!
