Today the Royal Mint revealed the coin they have minted to mark Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. The £5 commemorative coin features a garland of nine roses (one for each of the Queen’s decades) surrounding the royal cypher ‘EIIR’ and the number 90. It has been designed by artist Christopher Hobbs. Mr Hobbs said he was inspired by “the Queen’s love of flowers” when designing the coin. |
I love the use of roses to symbolize the decades of the Queen' s age. Perfect!
