On January 12, 2016, Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg, held a New Year's reception for members of the government. On the occasion of new year, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess were accompanied by Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie as they received guests on official audience at the Grand Ducal Palace. During the first audience, the President of the Chambre des Députés and the Bureau of the Chambre des Députés were received. During the second audience, one hour later, Prime Minister (and Minister of State) Xavier Bettel and other members of the Government were received. |
She looking lovely, beautiful.....
ReplyDeleteWho?
ReplyDeletePerhaps ANon 00:27 meant Stephanie
ReplyDeleteI find that neither of the ladies carry a 'wow' factor. They both look happy but something seems to lack....
ReplyDeleteStephanie has put on some weight...
ReplyDeleteIs she pregnant?
ReplyDeleteAlors là les chaussures rouge de la princesse stephanie ça va pas du tout
ReplyDeletemoi, rien contre!!
DeleteLovely to see a couple holding hands, especially when they are married with children.
ReplyDeleteWhy are Gullame and Stephanie waiting so long to have kids? His two younger brothers alredy have children.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, lovely family pictures.
Peut être que ça ne dépend pas de leurs volonté et que ça met un peu plus de temps mais j espére qu ils finiront pas y arriver.
DeleteCan we please stop asking that? They will have kids when they want to

DeleteWhy does it offend you when people speculate about their lack of kids? One of the main duties they have is to produce an heir. I see nothing mean or offensive in people asking or wondering about why they are waiting so long. Try not to be so over-sensitive.
DeleteThey both stated they want to wait 3 or 4 years before starting a family.
DeleteThan you Black alien. Let's be realistic. I do not understand why some people consider everything offensive.
DeleteIt's a waste of time to speculate on the private life of the hereditary couple on a matter which even their nearest and dearest may not be privy to. Readers get nothing from uninformed guesswork and speculation. So, why start such a pointless discussion in the first place?
DeleteBlack Alien Musings, it is evident that you have never met or read/listened to couples who are struggling with infertility --some of whom may be readers of this blog -- or you would realise why raising this topic is insensitive. Can you imagine what it is like to have other people asking “why aren’t you pregnant?” Would you want the condition of your reproductive organs to be a matter for public discussion? Royalty have to sacrifice many human rights that we take for granted - their right to privacy is significantly reduced - but I believe that royals should still have the right to medical confidentiality, like any other citizen.
It is so sad that you feel the need to remind us of Stephanie’s “duty” – as if she would be unaware of her obligations! -and imply that she is failing. The concept that a woman’s childbearing should controlled by the State, that her importance to the State resides in her fertility, is a medieval one– like the concept that a King’s bride must be a virgin (which was, incredibly, a serious topic when Diana became engaged to Prince Charles!) Just because these concepts persist in royal structures, does not mean that we should endorse them as if they were still valid – especially now that we have a better understanding of women’s rights. None of us has to jump on the patriarchal bandwagon of those who would say accusingly to Stephanie, “Explain and justify to the millions why you have not yet borne a child”. Remember Fabiola and Badouin’s story? try to feel some empathy for a couple who may, for all we know, want a child more than anything.
Stephanie needs a stylist. She's cute, but she dresses as if she was 60 years old. The grand duke and duchess has always seemed to me to be a couple deeply in love with each other. A joy to see!

She is a natural beauty.
Poor Stephanie, Always getting it wrong, while her mother in law gets it right most of the time. I love M.T. she's a warm and special personality.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw Stephanie and Guillaume, I knew someone was going to bring up the "children" issue. Oh, so predictable.
