The Swedish Royals shared a new portrait on the occasion of New Years, with this note: The Swedish Royal Family wishes everyone a Happy New Year! (The picture was taken by Jonas Ekströmer on 10th December when the  Swedish Royal Family attend the 2015 Nobel Prize Banquet at Stockholm City Hall.)

    Oh,those tiaras look amazing, especially the one princess Madeleine wore. Its perfect tiara for her.
    2016 will be another special year for Swedish Royal Family, with the babies, christenings, The King and The Queen celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, etc, etc.
    Happy New Year! Hope that this year will be more peaceful.

      Look for hopefully a paring-down of the "royal family" status, just like with Carl Gustaf's sisters. Queen Victoria might have only herself, Daniel, and their two children as the royal family. Madeleine is already living a happy semi-private life with a husband who works. Not so with Carl Philip, who has no job to speak of. Small countries do not need large royal families, nor do they want to support many royal personages.

      But it is a lovely photo.
