Agreed. Sofia's gown is a near knockoff of Madeleine's. The difference: Madeleine had a family aquamarine tiara that complimented her gown; Sofia had an art-deco, non family emerald tiara that did not work with hers.

DeleteSofia needs better tiara placement; it's not in her hair, it's sitting on top, looks strange. It also looks as if it's too small for her head. Something is wrong.

ReplyDeleteIt happens to be grey as Madde's was yesterday. Sofia's hairstyle is terrible as usual.It doesn't fit to the diadem.Her hairdresser doesn't know a thing about tiaras/diadems/hairstyle. They are royalties, not popstars.

DeletePrincess Sofia is regal and a dignified member of the SRF. Make up and hair is spot on like her royal sisters, and not taking away from representing the SRF by flicking or twirling from her face.
DeleteI believe I read Princess Sofia received this tiara as a wedding gift. Since it is the first tiara worn after the wedding and the wedding was last summer, she may feel pretty sentimental about this tiara. She may enjoy wearing a tiara she owns more than a borrowed piece.

DeleteI think Sofia looks lovely. The dress is similar to Madeleine's grey dress, but I think Sofia's is nicer, the colour is prettier, more blue, not so grey and a prettier style too.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like what Madeleine is wearing, I don't think it flatters her at all. On both occasions she has worn very high necklines. I think I prefer gowns which show of her décolletage, although nothing too low of course.
I haven't liked either of Queen Silvia's Nobel Prize gowns.
Victoria is glowing.
My favourites of the evening were Princess Madeleine and Crown Princess Victoria. They both were glowing with happiness. Its really good to see Madeleine experimenting with different dress styles. This is very 20s and looks good on her. But please stop wearing grey gowns all the time! There are different colours beside grey. When I look at Madeleine its hard to believe that she had baby only 5 months ago.
ReplyDeleteI like Sofia's dress, her pregnancy is hardly showing. But her hairdo looks absolutely ridiculous! She should change her hairdresser for tiara events ASAP. Her current one knows nothing about suitable hairstyles for tiaras.

DeleteI think they walk in the order of their place on the line of succession to the throne. So, technically, Carl Philip will always come earlier to Madeleine.

Rumor said that Madeleine dont like Sofia since Carl Philip left her best friend to get with Sofia... Well love is love :-) in any case the gossip is that sofia's sisters in law are not so happy to have her in the family.....well i am stating to like Sofia and hope she will prove the court and the rumors that they are wrong
DeleteThe rumor also claimed overlap, that CP was involved with Sofia at the same time he was with Emma. If true it doesn't make CP & Sofia look good.That's hard to change a perspective of Sofia when stories of Sofia having Emma (CP's ex and Madde's long time friend) banned from Nicolas' christening were coming out. It was so bad the court had to make the statement that the king, queen, Madde & Chris made the decision not to invite Emma. Despite that, the press still put the blame on Sofia; and a story like that makes Sofia look jealous and insecure.

Princess Sofia has always had a fabulous style since dating Prince Carl P. All princesses are an asset to the SRF and people - lovely, regal and beautiful. It's fabulous when they coordinate in a sisterly bond with colour or design.

Actually Madde is walking behind her brother Carl Philip, who is ahead of her in the succession. When Sofia is with Carl Philip, Madeleine walks behind them. When Carl Philip is not there, Madeleine goes first as the blood princess and Sofia goes after Madeleine because she's a married in. (See Global Child Forum event on 11/25.)

ReplyDeletePrincess Victoria looks so cute and radiant that for me she's the winner in the "contest" between the Swedish Royal Ladies. Her blue gown looked fabulous on her when she was expecting Estelle and looks fabulous too in her new pregnancy. The runner up is Princess Christina because she's lovely in fuchsia, the placement of the Six Button tiara on her head is perfect and her husband looks very handsome and distinguished. Wel done Prinsessan C.
