Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Chris O’Neill, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and British singer Adele - Skavlan Television Show filming at the London Studios. - London, United Kingdom - Friday 11th December 2015. Madeleine and Chris appeared on the talk show “Skavlan” hosted by Norwegian journalist Fredrik Skavlan... Here.. ( VIDEO ) |
Adele and Jamie Oliver were wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI think there is a lot of pressure being placed upon Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill to be "normal". Their live are never going to be "normal", neither of them grew up living normal lives. I doubt they cook or clean, they would have staff.
I don't understand why it is so important that Madeleine live in Sweden, surely her happiness and families happiness is more important than where she resides.
Madeleine could and maybe should give up her title, but she is probably afraid to do so, because she has never lived without the privileges a title brings. Wealth brings with it certain privileges, but belonging to a Royal House brings a lot more.
As for residences of Royal families, the Greek Royal family lived in London because Greece doesn't have a Royal Family, so location can't be that important.
If she should gives up her title, than so should Carl Philip.
DeleteCrown princess Victoria and her family are next in line.
There really is no need for Madeleine or Carl Philip.
The Dutch royal family did it that way to.
Also better for Swedens taxpayers.were this royals all live from.
Maybe not Madeleine, her husband has a good job.
But Carl Philip and Sofia do.
We don't do that in Sweden. We still want Madeleine, Chris, Carl-Philip and Sofia in the Royal family.
DeleteYou can't have it BOTH WAYS! this is 2015, not 1930, the Dutch royal family made a clean sweep with the old ways & update the royal family titles & the Dutch people still love all the Dutch royals with or without the titles.
DeleteI agree, she should give up her title and create and develop her own self more and more, step by step- she is young strong and intelligent she can choose herself....symbiotic-family-connections are not the best for a young couple who could be happy.
DeleteGreat interview.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks a million for posting the video. Really enjoyed it. Such a lovely couple.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how most of the Americans commenting on the interview thought it was very charming and a good appearance from both of them, but especially Chris. And, I'm right there with the rest of my fellow Yanks in that assessment. Chris was charming and quite affable. I appreciated that Adele chimed in a defense of Madeleine's choice to focus on being a mother, to two very young children, at this moment.
ReplyDeleteI'll be interested in seeing what the Swedes here thought of the interview - and they're really the only opinions that matter in the court of public opinion since Madeleine and Leonore are their princesses and Nicolas is their prince.
I still love them and i liked the interview.
DeleteWonderful interview. They both seemed relaxed and in tune with each other. Lovely couple.
DeleteJust watched the interview, and I must say, I loved it. I really enjoyed getting to know Madeleine and Chris. They were open, honest and very lovely. They came across as a beautiful young couple that you wouldn't mind hanging out with. I really enjoyed the whole show and interviews. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI think that Chris is naturally reserved and his basic facial expression gives the impression he's aloof and cold, but once he started talking about a subject he opened up and was very likeable. I think Madeleine was very anxious, and she admitted she was apprehensive about media attention and interviews, but, that being so, I think she did a very good job and came across as sweet, and also intelligent and articulate.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying this interview to be fair! Chris is totally polite and lovely: I like him even better. But Madeleine is clearly uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Chris has italian heritage? ??? So glad to hear this! He pronounced "spaghetti aglio e olio" in an impeccable accent! He said he used to spend time in sicily during holidays 'cause his parents came from Italy... is this true?

ReplyDeletewhat shyness? Didn't see anything that M should have any problems, maybe is like swedish press says a great pr stunt.
ReplyDeleteBah Humbug She is shy. She did a great job, was friendly and answered questions. She is lovely and really enjoys being a wife and mother.
DeleteWe know you love her and Victoria, they can do nothing wrong. so where is your objectivity? Great PR stunt from the palace after all bad press to these to people. And we know what you would have said had this been CP and S.
DeleteBeautiful princess
ReplyDeleteI love the interview they s normal

ReplyDeleteWow, such a great interview. Why they have not done it before? I really enjoyed the whole show.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed seeing this interview, I must say Chris was a big surprise to me . As somebody said here, from the pics on the press he looked a bit cold and shy person to me but here I discovered a really nice, warm and friendly gentleman . Bravo .
ReplyDeleteCaroline .
I know lots of people think Madeleine just wants to be a Princess and eats the cake, but why is it no one seems to think that maybe that's her father, the King's decision that she keeps her title and her children are titled too. When Leonore was born, she is the only spare after Estelle and no one knows is Carl Philip goinv to get married. So why blame Madeleine for everything. There are certain things that were being discussed behind closed doors and I don't think Madeleine can go around and talk about it openly. She did mention in her honeymoon interview, both she and Chris had discussed among themselves and family whether she gives up her title and be like Princess Martha Louise of Norway. So I still don't get it why people insists of thinking she loves eating the cake.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I love this interview. They are a very adorable couple.
