Was just thinking the same thing. OK, I'm old (80) and that says a lot, but I think women over 40 shouldn't wear skirts several inches above the knees. It's not dignified. I was 30 when the mini-skirt came out in the 60's and was wearing one when I visited my mother-in-law. Her comment: "My dear, you will certainly not trip over your hem".
You're as young as you feel.... and 43 is not old by today's standards. @ Lizzie She could easily live another 45 years. Let her enjoy what youth she has left.
Dear Lizzie: I was a teenager when the mini-skirt made its appearance, which necessitated the invention of pantyhose. At least Letizia doesn't wear "true" mini-skirts up to her derrière (with a floor-length maxi-coat). I suppose she's trying to be stylish and tasteful, trying to look young but not too young, looking for that perfect balance. She'll have to dress her age one of these years.
Lizzie. Even though it's not over, here are her best hemlines of 2015. 1. The ombre showstopper at the PoA awards. 2. The blue princess ballgown 3. The red/burgundy swirly dress in Paris. 4, The red close to the body number in Mexico. 4. The black dress with detailing at Georgetown U. 5. Everything red or with a peplum including the red leather dress. In the leggy variety (we won't say 'minifalda') 1. The black skirt - dia de al banderita 2. The black tuxedo dress 3. Yesterday's black & white ensemble. 4. The grey leather dress/Paris. 5.The suede leather dress and those leather look white leggings. Hope you like the first list and forgive her for the second. Royalty has to evolve and she's in the forefront. Cheers!
I really love her smile and hairstyle :)! But I think she's been wearing a lot of too short dresses lately, don't you think so too?

DeleteI'm not saying she's old, just that she is isn't young enough to wear skirts this short.

DeleteOui jupes trop courtes qui n'avantagent pas la silhouette et n'apportent que critiques à cette jolie reine.
ReplyDeleteDes jupes si courtes c'est pour des adolescentes

DeleteLike her hair, the dress is way short even with tights for any working lady, young or old, more suitable for leisure time.
ReplyDeleteces tenues un jour longueur normale, un jour très court, les cheveux un jour lisse un jour chignon, mais toujours très élégante pour moi RAS
ReplyDeletehmm I love queen letiza outfit from head to toe
ReplyDeleteI love Letizia, but I agree that this dress was a couple inches too short for the occasion. Other than that it is a very nice look.
ReplyDeletegeorgeous hardworking queen, with a beautiful family, yep duchess kate you can do it!!
ReplyDeleteThe king is so tall that I can't see the man behind him in the last photo
ReplyDeleteTrès belle, élégante et jeune la reine Letizia avec cet ensemble style Courrèges. Ses cheveux et ses BO sont superbes
ReplyDeleteShe looks appropriate to the occasion. She looks much younger than she is-
ReplyDeleteSo, so short never a good look when trying to look much younger than you are.
