Interesting style of portrait . Crown Princess Mary's interest and involvement in life are there , but not her beauty. The Danish RF are often adventurous in their portraits .
I think the artist made a horrible portrait on purpose for she does not like the royal family. Look at how she standing next to the picture, arms crossed, smirk on her face and head tilted down.......not a nice person. PM I think is a very hard working royal and loves her new homeland and family for it shows in her dedication to Denmark.
Come on people, this is what is called 'art'. It doesn't have to be realistic all the time. This portrait is a more abstract one, and I think it is a little ridiculous to think that the artist made it this way because she wouldn't like the royal family. It's abstract and either you like it or not, the artist did a good job!
I can see the similarity to when the Princess was pregnant with Price Christian, however unlike some of her other portraits it hasn't captured her beauty, I think it is quite bland. But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Maybe the artist thinks she should be a crown princess and do a better job then Crown Princess Mary, it is all about how she is standing next to the picture...take a good long look .....it says a lot.
I'm sure you could do a better job than Mary. A lot of people would take a different approach to the work for instance not showing up in the latest designer clothes to a charity event to demonstate REAL sympathy with the people.

ReplyDeleteSorry this portrait is a fail. It doesn't even look like Mary.
ReplyDelete... more resemble the artist (under the guise of C/Princess Mary).
DeleteMary has once said in an interview that she took a dare to be a Princess which means she put herself first before others because she's a rebel.
DeleteJe n'aurai jamais oser montrer ce portrait à Mary ! aucune ressemblance

ReplyDeletefor me it is a failure, prencesse Mary is 200 pc more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAwful,looks nothing like her
ReplyDeletePrincess Mary is a prettywoman, a pity that this portrait does not reflect the truth ! Horrible !
ReplyDeleteUm no! It looks half done and isn't flattering at all.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's interesting. The hair and shape of face look like Mary. It's a nice portrait, just not one that resembles Mary that much.
ReplyDeleteHorrible! Hope they didnt pay for it
ReplyDeletePortrait of who?? I think they delivered the wrong portrait to the palace . . . .
ReplyDeleteThe painting looks amateurish.

ReplyDeleteJe ne sais pas où elle a appris à peindre, absolument pas ressemblant, laid, laid, laid !!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe portrait looks nothing like Crown Primcess Mary.
ReplyDeleteWhat the artist is trying to portray are her many different personalities. Her multiple personalities and moods. Shallow roots.
