Sofia looks really cute, Madeleine's outfit is not very flattering.
ReplyDeleteWhy cannot the Princesses Madeleine and Sofia Hellqvist at least a day like this wear such a wonderful native dress as Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Viktoria do ???
ReplyDeleteAnd wouldn't it be great if the gents at least a day like this and during the National day would wear the similar outfits for men ?! Are those people ashamed of the Nation they are representing ? I am proud of my country and I wear my native dress as often I can to honour my country, our visitors and the one who handicrafted my beautiful dress. Please have in mind that this is not because I feel any better than anyone else on this planet but because native clothes (of any country !) are a part of it's cultural history as well as of it's textile history !

DeleteI understand your opinion, but I think that everyone has the ability to decide what to wear. I'm not Swedish, but I love the royal family of Sweden and I am a royal watcher for a long time, and completely disagree when you say that they misrepresent the country for not wearing the traditional clothes, believe me, the royal family of Sweden is well represented, people who follow the royal families (like me!) do not look only to the clothes but mainly to attitudes and to charity.

ReplyDeleteIt´s the native dress of the region of Oland and Madeleine and Sofia have nothing to do with this. Victoria is the duchess of Oland and this is, why she wears this dress.

DeleteMiss Sofia needs more princess training. She broke protocol by standing next to the King, the Queen, and the Crown Princess couple in photo #9 - she belonged back with Carl Philip, Madeleine, and Chris, all of whom knew what their place was and know how to act. Sofia is a princess only because of her marriage to Carl Philip; she was totally out of order.

I stand by my comment that Sofia was out of order to stand in the spotlight. She needs to remember that she is a married-in princess. And, guess what, right or wrong for either of us I have an opinion just like you do.

I do not think that Sofia did something wrong, Carl Philip was right behind it, to realize it in the video, so it was just a little early, but I do not see the problem because the entire royal family can not be photographed together? !!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to tell the anon July 16, 2015 at 7:50 PM I also did not like Sofia in the beginning, but I changed my opinion on it, because I think it is visible the effort she made and we have to admit she performs her role perfectly, but of course is just my perspective.
I agree give the girl a chance.
