I agree. I much prefer this -- dressing according to the occasion -- than overdressing (I like Q. Mathilde, but imo, she looked a little ridiculous in the garden party hat in China on the 25th).
Clothes should be in harmony with your social status. This look is not suitable for a queen,it is a crime to fashion!the combination of the patterns, rolled up jacket, pyjama pants, ugly shoes and purse is a fashion faux pas!why does she always roll up her sleeves each time she wears a shirt or jacket?maybe she washes the dishes before her appearances?
Clothes must also be in harmony with the local sartorial habits and customs and with the nature of the event you're attending. I'm Spanish and in our country an outfit like Queen Letizia's is totally adequate to wear in an informal environment where the main figures were very young people dressed in shorts, jeans and T-shirts debating over work-training, bussiness ideas, use of new technologies to promote yourself in the labor market and so on. I personally like the mixing of black and white patterns and the sandals, although I admit that other people don't share my tastes.
@1:16 am. Well put. A look at the crowd tells you they would have looked out of place in more formal clothing. However, El Rey needs to do a little better at casual outfits. Lose the Dad trousers and have them fit just below the waist with a wider belt, and with tapered legs. Those boxy linen jackets also tapered and 4 inches shorter. I realize that he does serious work but why is this hot 47 year old dressing like he's 67?
Work enobles the soul. There are few people who need rituals and stuff to feel secure. They have forgotten, that we are all equal as human beeings not in character.
Not liking this outfit at all. I find the whole ensemble together visually disturbing.
The top half just doesn't go with the bottom half, and the bag is overkill. The blazer just doesn't work, with such casual pants. The pants could work with a plain black or white top and flat shoes without the bag. The bag is just too much.
The bag would look great with either an all white or an all black ensemble, it would look great particularly a shift dress, and simple shoes of toning colour to the dress.
Is ther a flooding in Girona??? the way she wears her trousers, rolled up reminds me of floods. . ..
ReplyDeleteHORRIBLE!!! the shoes, bag pattern and the trousers pattern DON'T go together!!
What is she wearing? ??? Those pants + bag+ shoes! It is awful !
ReplyDeleteI agree!

DeleteThey dressed according to the occasion, they may like to move a little less formal or maybe out of consideration.
DeleteI like everything above her waist ;-)

ReplyDeleteShe looks great from the waist up, not crazy about the pants and shoes, but to each its own. She looks happy and modern.

DeleteGet a life, your life must be really boring, that you write such trivial opinion about royals.

OMG, horrible look.
ReplyDeleteHorrible look???
DeleteLook at the photo 3
She is beautiful
yikes! Truly a bad look.
ReplyDeleteThose pants do look like PJs.
She would have worn jeans, to make the outfit "casual". I really like her style, but this is a total miss. I like her waist-up. The bottom :S
Oh, and I'm sorry but those shoes look like hooker shoes!
