The Presidential couple of Finland was welcomed by the Danish Royal Family at the Copenhagen airport. President Sauli Niinistö of Finland and his wife, Jenni Haukio arrived in Copenhagen this morning for a two day state visit to Denmark. Jenni Elina Haukio and Crown Princess Mary visit The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Scools of Architecture, Design and Conservation and Danish Agency for Culture.
Crown Princess Mary repeated the Philip Treacy burgundy diagonal cloche she’s worn seven times before (most recently at Queen Margrethe’s Ruby Jubilee last year). I liked this hat the first six times she wore it but the shape is now looking a little dated to me. Princess Marie, however, seems to be debuting a new fascinator. It appears to be an eggplant purple straw cluster of flowers and leaves with feather trim. Without a clear photo it’s hard to make judgement on this hat but it’s looking awfully like a preschool craft project to me so far.
Queen Margrethe wore the white fur trimmed flat pillbox-esque hat she wore in February for the sign language bible release, and for her Ruby Jubilee last year. Mrs. Haukio wore a small cream rosette looped and feathered fascinator. She seems a fan of the fascinator- she also wore one for the first day of her state visit to Norway last October. Princess Benedikte wore a turquoise blue modified fedora-type hat with extended front brim.
