Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended the Young Music Palace concert in the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Young Music at the Palace is a week-long festival that presents talented young musicians and dancers. The festival runs between 16 and 24 January. The festival is part of the Royal Palace Music Festival.
The Royal Palace Music Festival is an international music festival with an emphasis on classical music. It consists of Young Music at the Palace, which is held over the course of a week in January, and the Royal Palace Music Festival itself, held in September and featuring established musicians.
It was King Gustav VI Adolf who first invited violinist and conductor Mats Liljefors to give concerts at the Royal Palace of Stockholm in 1970, and these quickly became a great success. Anna Eklund-Tarantino takes over this year from Mats Liljefors as Artistic Director. The King is patron of the Royal Palace Music Festival.
