Mareterra is an eco-district in Monaco, designed as an extension of the existing coastline from the Grimaldi Forum to the Formula One Grand Prix tunnel. It is a transformational project for the Principality of Monaco. Princess Alexandra of Hanover and her boyfriend, Ben Sylvester Strautmann, also attended the inauguration.

The whole family looks lovely here. Smart and chic, and especially the kids - very cute.

The sun appears to be shining brightly. Sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays are recommended to protect the eyes from harmful UV rays. UV rays can cause damage to the eyes, including cataracts and several forms of eye cancer. I live in a sunny place and this is perfectly normal and wise to protect their eyes. We wear sunglasses year-round. I can see it might seem strange if you don't live in a sunny climate.

I agree with you about the sunglasses, especially for children. I do not live in a sunny place, but once the spring arrives we are remembered in the news and press to protect our skin and our eyes against the sun. Even during winter with snow and sometimes a lot of sun, we have to wear sunglasses because of the reflection of the sun on the snow.

    3. For an inauguration of their very own square and promenade? Surely not. It might have taken place in the afternoon anyway (after school).

Keep them at home? Are they on house arrest? I never fail to be surprised by some of the stupid comments made here. As DSC states, they are inaugurating their namesake sites that will forever have historical importance. It is quite an honor.

  8. Life just seems to keep getting better and better for the family and that I love. Princess Charlene looks so happy as she lovingly looks at Prince Albert on the bench. Princess Charlene is doing the monochromatic look flawlessly and I am sure that some will say she needs a scarf or pop of color but that would defeat the whole purpose of the monochromatic look that she seems to favor!

Princess Charlene wears a beautiful coat over pants and top in the same Camel color. With pants I think the coat is too long, but with a midi dress or skirt it is probably just fine. The children have always been dressed like little adults. Since their very young age their clothes are bought at brands for adults not at brands for children. Besides do they not have to go to school ? In other European country's as well primary school as secondary school children have exams in the weeks before Christmas. Or maybe since it was on Wednesday they had to go to school only in the morning and the inauguration took place in the afternoon ? I don't know if in Monaco it is the same as in my country, or it could be that they follow the same school programme like in France.

Their clothes are designed for children. Not all children have an occasion to dress up like this, but they are well dressed children and very appropriate. To me, it is much better to teach children the appropriate way to present themselves as they are being brought up, so they don't embarrass themselves as adults by not having any idea how to appear at important events in their lives. A brand can have adult and juvenile clothing without everything being branded "adult". It is not as though they cut down the adult clothing for children. Jacques and Gabriella are dressed like normal kids most of the time. I think they have a very nice balance in their lives.

The kids are dressed up like adults. Maybe I'm the only one who has a difficult feeling about that, but I do. Let them be kids.

What should they wear, sneakers, jeans, graphic t shirt and backwards ball cap and hoodie? As stated above this is a special occasion and they are dressed appropriately, not over done, wearing warm coats. I don’t understand what is meant by let them be kids. They are just attending a function in their honour for a few hours.

There is a whole range of young children's clothes between sneakers, jeans, etc.... and copies of adult dressing. In other royal houses (U.K., Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark,...) the young children have never been dressed like that. There is an age for everything.

I love the ‘proud Mama’ smile Princess Charlene gives Princess Gabriella when the stone was uncovered. So sweet.
Beautiful camel coats on both Mama and daughter.
Looks like HP Jacques has had a growing spurt.
