King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are undertaking a three-day State Visit to the Italian Republic. On the second day of their visit, Queen Letizia, accompanied by the President's daughter Laura Mattarella, attended a meeting with Spanish employees of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) at the residence of the Spanish Ambassador in Rome. Later, the King and Queen traveled to Naples to continue their state visit.
Alberta Ferretti tweed jacket and tweed midi skirt
Are they only interested in Spanish people who live in Italy ? Is there no interest in collaboration between Spain and Italy in the field of business, research programs which they can exchange, the climate changes,....there are so many subjects which can be of interest for both countries. I like Queen Letizia's 3 pieces. Ideal to wear when it is cold, but it looks like it is less cold than upon arrival.
ReplyDeleteThose things are for the government, not for a King and a Queen , they are only diplomatics, you speak about a visit from the Prime Minister and Ministers from Spain
DeleteIt seems like you're raising a couple of different points here! First, on the topic of collaboration between Spain and Italy, you're absolutely right—there is a lot of potential for both countries to work together on various fronts like business, research, and climate change. Historically, Spain and Italy have collaborated in many areas, and there are numerous initiatives at the EU level where they align on topics such as sustainability, innovation, and economic development. It would be great to see even more of these exchanges happening!
DeleteAs for Queen Letizia's outfit, she certainly has a knack for stylish and practical choices. A three-piece ensemble would be perfect for transitional weather, offering warmth without feeling too heavy. Her fashion choices often seem to strike a balance between elegance and comfort, which is ideal for travel or diplomatic engagements.

DeleteWell sorry, I compare too much with King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, who always plan on a state visit at least 2 or sometimes 3 places where there is something to see and to visit which is of interest for both countries. As well for an incoming state visit as for a state visit from Belgium to another country (these pictures are not showed in this blog, because they are not fashion related or sometimes the king and queen are visiting different places of interest). We also have Princess Astrid the king's sister who is leading Economic Missions abroad in the company of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and representatives of the Belgian business world. Until he became king Prince Philippe lead these Economic Missions. Representatives of the Belgian business world have confirmed it on many occasions that the presence of a king or queen or princess helps a lot to get signed contracts with each other.
Anon 07:09...in Spain the King and the Queen only visit the places the government want, the government say what they can do...in Spain the King has no power and cannot represent any business at all in other countries as UK the King has some active power I do not know exactly in others.
Delete@ 08:47
DeleteIn Belgium everything what the King is doing or saying on his state visits is planned before with the responsable ministers or state secretaries.... For an incoming state visit the same, everything is planned with the agreement of the government or other responsables of the visiting country. King Philippe does not represent business in other countries either, therefore like I explained in my comment his sister Princess Astrid is leading these economic missions and is accompanied by ministers of foreign trade and a delegation of Belgian business men and women, when she represent the king on the economic missions abroad. It is a custom since King Baudouin was still alive, it was his brother Prince (later King) Albert II, who went on economic missions abroad. By the time Prince Albert became king his son then Prince (later King) Philippe took over. You can imagine how many preparations has to be done before a state visit can take place.
Anon 16:27...in Spain Alfonso XIII was sent to the exile and most people are againts the Monarchy, actually there were 2 Republics in Spain and probably a referéndum is needed...the government blocks the Monarchy...King's daughters are nobody, not even royals..they need to work as normal persons..and the former King, Juan Carlos is in the exile too... different situation...
DeleteGreetings
* I mean King's sisters... sorry my English... actually Sofía, the second daughter of Felipe Will need a job, only Leonor will be royal.
DeleteBeautiful tweed suit very chique !!

DeleteBut I think there's room here for our ever present, NewMyRoyal's advice of "a touch of colour".
After all, it is Christmas, you know.🎄
Wasn't it a "pop" of colour?😁
DeleteHello Coralie.
DeleteYes, you’re right our infinite advice to the royal ladies is a “pop of colour” and not a “touch of colour”. Getting my pop’s and touches mixed up and I haven't even had my first glass of Christmas bubbly yet. 😁
È perfetta, un omaggio all’Italia.

I don’t know what is happening in Italy: both suits , the pink one & this ferreti , seem too big on QL. As we say in Spain , the suits “eat” her
ReplyDeleteJoli tailleur.
ReplyDeleteTres rarement déçues par ses tenues
Froufrou
Personally, I like this suit better than her pink suit. The fabric is perfect for the time of year, and I like the cut of the jacket so much better. I don't think the belt was necessary, though I see why she wanted to add one. The belt bunches up the jacket, making it look a little large for her. The matching coat really makes a complete outfit. I think we will see more of this coat going forward.
ReplyDeleteMême avis. Superbe tailleur et superbe manteau. Paloma.
DeleteI actually think the belt adds a nice touch of structure and definition to the outfit. The suit overall feels balanced, and the matching coat definitely completes the look. While it might not be everyone's favorite, I think the belt actually works in giving the jacket a more tailored feel. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this coat make more appearances—it has a classic appeal.
DeleteEnsemble veste/jupe élégamment combiné avec un superbe manteau en tweed ; petit bémol au niveau de la ceinture qui me semble un peu trop large pour la silhouette de Letizia !
ReplyDeleteOw no. What is happening…. She looks so old. Maybe the color of the clothes or her hair but this a big no!
ReplyDeleteI beg you to explain. How old? 80 years old? No? 70? Or does she possibly look about as old as the number of her years would suggest? And no visible efforts to look a lot younger? Scandalous! :-))
DeleteI actually think her look is quite refined. Sometimes certain colors or styles might not resonate with everyone, but it’s important to remember that elegance can often come with age, and she still carries herself with grace and poise.
DeleteLetizia is 52. At age 52 we’re not exactly young any more and that’s what we call NORMAL!!! “What is happening” you ask … she’s ageing beautifully is your answer.
DeleteIt is so sad how the normal becomes "bad" when under constant pressure of the abnormalities social media and the press confronts us with. Letizia is someone who unites excellent taste and individuality and looks most of the time not only good, but really distinguished. To put negative sentiments towards what a woman is wearing into the word "old" is a very poor choice. So sad.
DeleteThis tweed suit is gorgeous, love the jacket and skirt, but the matching coat, perfection! A lovely addition. Her accessories color works in well. Very elegant, chic and stylish appearance by the Queen. As usual the King looks well groomed, he is a fine looking man/King.
ReplyDeleteQ Letizia looks very elegant. Love this suit.

Always spot on.

This tweed ensemble is very Parisian, refined, subtle elegance, Dior vibes, very convincing.

Actually It is a Italian designer, not French...Román, not Parisian at all.
DeleteThese days you will find in every collection a couple or more outfits that are inspired by the vintage Dior collection : date from 1940 on ......
Delete@ Virginia
DeleteWhy do you use this expression "very Parisian" regularly ? It is not because the French fashion industry is concentrated in and around Paris that the style cannot be called French. I have never seen a label "made in Paris" but always "made in France".But the last years it is often like in so many countries "made in South-East Asia", "made in China", "made in Tunisia", "made in South-Corea", etc.... Of course you have still the Haute Couture houses like Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc.... who make the majority of their creations still in their own atéliers in France.
Many other fashion designers who cannot be called haute couture are copying the collections of the French "couturiers". The best example is Chanel, the number of cheap and less cheap designers who copy the famous Chanel jacket are countless. The last 2 years Dior is repeating in his own collections old creations made by Christian Dior himself in the period just after WWII and the 50s.
This style is also copied by cheaper designers. It started with the summer dresses worn by Queen Mathilde and Queen Maxima 3 or 4 years ago : wide skirt, big belt, bodice made in a classic way with buttons in the front like on a shirt and short or 3/4 sleeves, to be worn with high heels, a little handbag and a little hat.
This suit would have been perfect without the belt. And it does look a bit like it is swallowing her in the shoulder area.
ReplyDelete-Aloise
Dear No Name 17:08, „Very Parisian“ is a compliment. The suit reminds me of the couture houses of Paris around the designer Dior and others. At that time designers in the Western World were inspired by and copied the creations of these houses. If you look at books on fashion, you will find creations similar to the one queen Letizia is wearing. I find your reply very difficult to understand.

DeleteMy English is not perfect, I know. But there are other comments written here in English worse than mine. I am wondering if you are a native English lady, I don't think so. I am not, but I do not understand what is so difficult about my explanation of the French fashion which is "in" again lately. I never said Queen Letizia's outfit was not good. I like it very much. Since the designer of her clothes is Italian "Alberta Ferreti" it shows that it is a trend among several European designers to copy that old French style from 1945-1957.
Queen Letizia looks amazing in this beautiful Ferretti suit! Elegant and perfect for Letizia. This is so much better than the pink suit in every way. The coat is gorgeous and I hope to see it as a separate in the future.
