On October 14, 2024, Japanese Princess Kako arrived in Saga Prefecture, which is hosting the 78th National Sports Festival. The Princess first visited the Saga Ceramic Museum in Arita Town. On October 15, 2024, Princess Kako attended the closing ceremony of the National Sports Festival in Saga City, southwestern Japan.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I don't understand why the "powers that be" can't afford her some shoes that are *both* comfortable and respectful (in the traditional Japanese sense) while at the same time having some style and youthfulness. The young women of the imperial household always look like they're playing dress-up with grandma's shoes!
DeleteI do agree with you Achard, the shoes could be more stylish, but I somehow fear that there are court restrictions even with regard to footwear. I love the bright red dress combined with the unique smile😀

Agree that the dress is lovely, especially the bright colour and the detail of the neckline. I don’t think the shoes are great but there are worse examples, at times, from those who have no restrictions on their choice!

Oh my--what a pretty princess! I love her red dress--this shade of red is perfect for her and I think the style details make this dress really stand out. While I can't see too much of the tweed/boucle/not sure what fabric dress it also looks very pretty for Kako. The pink tones are lovely for her as they highlight her flawless complexion. Think Kako works hard to make her outfits look as modern as she can within the severe restrictions of the Imperial Court.

How delightful to see Princess Kako, she looks happy and engaging, always bringing light hearted moments, she is delightful and such an asset. Love the red dress, she looks beautiful, this fits well, the necklace is a lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Princess Kako's earrings are not visible when she is wearing the red dress.
ReplyDeleteThey are made of Saga porcelain (Arita ware).
If only they would change those granny looking shoes for the young ladies of the imperial family, she would be perfect.
