On October 23, 2024, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan attended the opening ceremony of the Global Environmental Action (GEA) 2024 International Conference on Promoting Measures to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), held at the Tokyo Prince Hotel in Minato-ku. The Global Environmental Action International Conference is held approximately every two years in the Japanese capital.

ReplyDeleteShe is taller than the emperor and this is a problem for the Imperial Household Agency. From what I know, this hat was chosen or designed so that the height difference would not be so obvious. I find it difficult for them to allow her to wear another type of hat.
DeleteOdlanor--I figured the Imperial Fashion Police came up with this hat for Empress Masako for the reason you stated. Sorry if this offends anyone but only that group of men could come up with such an awful solution. Janet
DeleteThe jacket has small fit issues, but the color and overall appearance are very good. The empress looks elegant, even with that hat.

Regardless what empress wears royal is still royal elegant remain the same this just shows the royal staffs is narrow mind don't they know that empress is taller than emperor?

DeleteTranslated: This suit is loose and comfortable to wear. I think the folded collar is mellow and elegant. Personally, I think that by unifying the impression of their hats, they are conveying to the people an unchanging image of the imperial family, just as the previous empress did.
