King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and Crown Princess Leonor attended the appointment ceremony for the new naval officers at the Naval Military Academy in Marín, Pontevedra, Galicia. The ceremony was held for those who have been appointed as new officers of the Navy upon completing their training at the Naval Military School. The ceremony coincided with the celebration of the Day of Carmen, the patron saint of the Spanish Navy.

DeleteLeonor is not the Infanta. Her sister Sofia is the Infanta. Leonor is the Crown Princess. Infanta is the title for the children of the King who cannot become king or queen because they have an older brother or sister who automatically become king or queen if the reigning king passes away.
I’m so very impressed with Leonor. She and her sister have maintained a low key presences through their childhood, but boy, oh boy has Leonor stepped into her role with flying colors. I have no doubt that Sophia will be equally successful in whatever she chooses to do or whatever role she is to play in the royal family. After the mess that preceded Filipe’s reign they can pretty much create whatever they want out of the position. They are all doing admirably.
