On June 12, The Duchess of Edinburgh attended a reception to commemorate Yazidi survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, held at Winfield House in London. The event was held by the U.S. ambassador to the U.K. Jane Hartley. This year marks 10 years since the ISIS genocide against Yazidis in Sinjar. The Duchess met with Yazidi human rights activist Nadia Murad, founder of Nadia's Initiative and a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

The Duchess of Edinburgh looks lovely in this dress. Might I add, Nadia Murad is a beautiful woman inside and out.

Great dress! I'd like only to see her shorter - as the model wears perhaps? Zofia

  3. An attractive dress which I wouldn't mind having in my wardrobe.

Somehow I think the quality of this dress is compromised by the large black area at the bottom of the blouse portion of the dress, as it 'clashes' with the sleeve of the right arm. Somewhat more flowers on this sleeve and it would look totally different. As usual the dress could be a couple of inches shorter, but apparently this is the length the DOE prefers. Hardly ever keen on white shoes, but with the little black touch these are okay.

Look at the model to see how long this dress should be and look at the duchess. Please let her hire a steamstress to shorten all her best dresses

From the dozens of previous posts showing the Duchess' wardrobe, I think we can all agree that she has no intention of shortening any of her dresses, much as we all would like her to.

The flower patterns on this dress seems oddly dispersed, with the large black area on the top. I like Sophie’s shoes. Her hair in the back looks overly casual, like she quickly looped it up in a scrunchie while washing her face and left it.

  8. Jolie robe chemise de Sophie même si quelques centimètres en moins apporteraient plus d'équilibre à son look !

I like the dress but because she is not as thin as the model there is too much black on the bodice. It would need a few more flowers on the side. And yes the sleeves should have a balance of design on each

It’s a beautiful dress.Sophie is a beautiful woman, with an enviable figure, and has a big heart, but she desperately needs a stylist. When she is representing her country on the world stage, she needs to look a little more polished, and put together. The black scrunchie is a huge ‘no’.The brand is high end and not of the rack,so she can have the item cut and styled to her shape and height. Many royal ladies have a hair stylist, who can style their hair before engagements.
Sophie has stepped up for the king during this challenging time, she just now need to look the part.

  11. Does she really look that undesirable, I do not think so, most of her engagements
lately she has been wearing her hair in a low chignon and has been adding new pieces to her wardrobe. I think she likes florals, however she could shorten the length from time to time. She really is a pretty lady!

Together with Erdem dresses I don't like Suzannah dresses. There is always something that is wrong with the creations of these brands. As long as Duchess Sophie is going to wear dresses or skirts which are too long, as long she will look matronly (picture N° 2).

  15. The dress looks good and fits well. I don't like the placement of the white flowers. The black blocking, I don't like and everywhere else too many white flowers.

I really want to like this dress but I find the placement of floral patterning to be odd. The sort of broad blue area across the bust looks sort of a like a bib--the style of pinned bib on nursing uniforms worn decades ago. From a side or profile angle the dress and floral pattern is very pretty but the front it patterning is odd to a point that I don't like it. Given the dress is well-fitted and the style is so good on Sophie the fabric is sad in terms of how it really changes its appearance. I do really love her shoes though.
