Crown Princess Mary of Denmark gave an interview to the international newspaper Financial Times ahead of her 50th birthday in her study at Frederik VIII’s Palace. The interview was done in connection with the 50th birthday of the Crown Princess and can be read online on the website of "Financial Times".
In the birthday interview, Crown Princess Mary spoke about her own role and what it means to represent one of the world's oldest monarchies in a modern age. The Crown Princess also discussed the causes she supports and how she adapted to her new life in Denmark.
Jenny Packham Georgia Sequined Gown
Temperley London Clove Velvet Jacket and Trousers
Love that dress!! Spectacular!!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of CPM wearing the purple velvet pantsuit, I like best: she looks gorgeous. The other pictures look 'too forced' to my taste; in particular the one where she's sitting at/leaning against a table and looks older than the 50 years she just turned into.
ReplyDeleteMCS
MCS, it is interisting that you say so because I love all the photos - and especially that one with the table! Because of Mary - and these unbelievable flowers! So very beautiful...
DeleteAgree with much of what you say, MCS. The Jenny Packham dress is divine but the photos of the Crown Princess wearing it are very stiff, in my opinion. On the other hand, the photos in the purple trouser suit are natural and very much "her". The first one, which looks like it's been taken in a lift, is fantastic. The photo with the statue I thought was Charlotte Casiraghi!!
DeleteThese are stunning outfits, and hopefully they belong to Mary as it would be a shame not to see at least the gala dress in real gala action at some point! She looks amazing, I would live to have her slender figure... The photo in the yellow setting is surprisingly bad with the light "cutting" out a part of her neck, but the rest of the photos are stunning. Happy Birthday Mary!
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the suit.
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous! Me too!
Deleteits gorgeous on her!!
DeleteStunning.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday
Your new country can be very proud of you.
I know that the people "down-under" are proud of you.
Magnifique silhouette élancée dans le costume en velours qui lui va à merveille ; sur la dernière photo, le photographe a choisi judicieusement la couleur de fond !
ReplyDeleteQue bella es. Precioso el vestido. Me encanta
ReplyDeleteSHE!!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent.
Mary looks stunning in these photos, just amazing photos.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous, her hair is beautiful also.
That's what Kate should have had for her birthday photos, not the ones they put up, they washed her out of all colour, shame, next time.
The purple pant suit is to die for. Material and colour together make a sumptuous effect. All three outfits looks good on Mary. - Siri
ReplyDeleteWow! Great fashion pictures. The pink Jenny Packham dress is the same pattern as the green sequinned dress Catherine Duchess of Cambridge wore in Pakistan the first time.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures raise the question for me 'how would I like the future Queen of my country to be'. The answers flow from there. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteWonderful gown and suit, she looks fantastic in both. And the rooms she is posing in, are beautiful beyond words - the dreams come true. But about her positionong before camera I would say: less is more.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the idea behind this photo session is other than portraying a rich well kept middle aged woman as a model in her luxury surroundings?
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%!!

Exactly! And I remain unconvinced it is what a future Queen should be. - Ellie
DeleteShe is absolutely stunning...
ReplyDeleteToutes les tenues sont magnifiques, avec une préférence pour la photo où Mary pose à coté d'un bouquet d'hortensias. Les décors sont bien sûr à la hauteur.
ReplyDeleteMARIAMAR
The CP looks sensational in the Jenny Packham pink gown, it is very glamorous and elegant, it suits her perfectly. I love, the purple velvet pantsuit, this looks divine, the fit is faultless. The b/white photos are very appealing to me. The Casual pants and blouse in the first photo looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWow. I have never seen Mary with long legs until now.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning . Mary
ReplyDeletePerfekt insziniert- für die Finazwelt
ReplyDeleteFabulous!!! CP Mary looks stunning--I love both the gown and the pantsuit. I hope both items are now part of her personal wardrobe because I would love to see them again (and again and again...).
ReplyDeleteBased on both the variety of comments above and with Kate's portraits, it is clear that we all have our own ideas about the art of photography. Personally, I am all for the more relaxed photoshoots. We are able to see more personality and artistic license in these photos. We have centuries of formal sittings from royals, and still more to come. These are just for Mary and I love them.
ReplyDeleteBoth the pant suit and gown are fantastic choices, each stunning in its own way. They both make her look long and lean. I hope she owns the pant suit in particular. She looks so modern and chic, and I want to see this again. My favorite photo is the fourth, the black & white of Mary in the Packham gown next to the statue. Her hair can be fully appreciated, and the pose reminds me of retro poses from the 50s-60s. ~d
These photos are spectacular. Love the outfits, all of them, but particularly the velvet pantsuit. Not many people can pull that off. I love the variety of these photos. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteChel
Fab! She is an amazing representative for her native country and for her home country now.
ReplyDeleteVery glamorous!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been a great opportunity to promote local Danish designers
ReplyDeleteI have to giggle; the first photo, Mary, pretend you are looking through a camera to take a photo (very odd pose), then from there, stand in what looks like an elevator, or sit dressed in evening gown staring off into space, or near a nude statue, or sitting on various tables. Lack of inspiration in the photos, is quite evident.
ReplyDeleteWoman happy in her woman space versatile, unapologetic, brave and caring
