On June 7, 2021, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark attended 2020 awards ceremony of the Stéphane Bern Foundation for History and the Heritage-Institute of France. The award ceremony was held in the presence of First Lady Brigitte Macron. The First Lady presented the 2020 Heritage Prize awarded to Maisons Paysannes de France. The second award, the History Prize 2020, was presented by Prince Joachim of Denmark. Princess Marie wore a metallic jacquard and stretch woven dress from By Malene Birger.

Wow. Adore this dress, although I must confess that my first glance made me concerned for how thin Princess Marie was. The slimming "trompe l'oeil' side panels are wonderful. She looks amazing. I also like Mme Macron's blue suit but it would look so much better if just a couple of inches longer
ReplyDeleteExactly my thoughts. Madame Macron always wears too short skirts or dresses for her age and position. The missing inches don't make her younger. Instead it looks ridiculous.
Cela y ressemble beaucoup ?!
ReplyDeleteI am still on the fence about Pr Marie's dress; no negative points, it is innovative, so yes why not but no real enthusiasm. I like Mrs Macron's suit and have no objection to the length since she seems to like wearing short dresses and has beautiful legs. If I had to choose one of those for myself I would go for the blue suit.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue on Madame Macron, but agree with some that just a tad longer would look better. She has a classic style that is hard to beat.
DeletePrincess Marie looks adorable and lovely in the metallic dress. Perfect length.
It is a pity that mrs Macron fancies her dresses being a tad too short....... no matter how elegantly she is dressed, what catches the eye most of the times is the hemline. I am sure that she thinks that it looks youthful, but unfortunately she achieves exactly the contary. I am not keen on the dress Marie is wearing. She always looks okay but never more than that.

Yes, I too like both their outfits but think that the lengths of each should be reversed. However I know that Mme. Macron - and French suit skirts in general - favour a shorter length. I like the designs and colours of both outfits. Very nice.

I don’t think this dress is particularly flattering on petite P. Marie. The contrasting side panels and back are designed to visually slim the wearer, something she most definitely does not need. And as usual Mme Macron’s dress is too short. I’m surprised she continues to choose this length. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteMarie looks great! Lovely dress, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMarie is elegant and charming! I admit I never liked the way Mme Macron presents herself. Too much fake (fake tan, fake hair).
ReplyDeleteBrigitte Macron's suit is very chic, lovely color for her. Marie's dress is a bit boring. -Siri
ReplyDeleteAgree on all points. Love Brigette’s chic suit. I love the button detail.

Unfortunately, the cut of the dress at the shoulders doesn't flatter Marie. She would look better with her arms covered in this setting.
ReplyDeleteLove Marie's dress hemline elegant &, appropriate. Mrs Macron',s dress could be bit longer would be more age appropriate for her, apart from that nice style. Mary I
ReplyDeleteMarie is elegant and poised as ever, wonderful dress from M. Birger, Mme Macron's suit is dull and uninteresting but she gives it life with her personality.
ReplyDeleteMir gefällt Maries Kleid. Aber mich irritieren die nackten Arme auf dem Foto.

I like Marie's dress. Sure she's worn it before. Life in Paris suits her, she looks lovely. Ana
