A new life-size statue of Queen Elizabeth created by sculptor Robert Hannaford (Member of the Order of Australia) has been placed in the grounds of Government House in Adelaide. Queen Elizabeth unveiled the statue via video call last week with the Governor of South Australia, Hieu Van Le and the Premier Steve Marshall. The sculpture depicts the Queen in a coat and hat carrying her trademark Launer handbag.
During the video call, the Queen also received information about the region’s Covid-19 response and the lifting of restrictions in South Australia. The Queen, as Head of the Commonwealth, visited Australia 16 times during her reign.

Pink always looks good her.
ReplyDeleteI respect her now more than ever, she never complains just gets on with her job. Service to others comes first.

DeleteThe perfect comment! She looks great.

Completely agree, she is amazing and looks lovely as she goes forward. Love the pearl jewelry and black accessories with this shade of pink.

It's wonderful to see the statue, which captures the style of Her Majesty such as the hat with flowers, the pearl necklace, the bag, and the sensible shoes.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that Her Majesty is pleased with the statue.
Lovely photos of the Queen again. She suits this soft pink beautifully. The statue is good but don't think it does her justice
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely charming video, not only of the Queen who is delightful, but also the three men in her presence. All 4 seem to be enjoying each others company and the Queen has lost none of her sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful 'feel good' moment to watch.

Wait a minute.... she is still doing video calls. My goodness her husband is in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you? The ones running around like chickens with their head cut off because H&M did an interview that will be aired on Sunday ( before grandpa was in hospital) and they are losing their cool and asking how they dare ? Come on girls where is the outrage?
Of course my comment is pure sarcasm.
Sam
The thought crossed my mind as well. ~d
DeleteForgive me Sam, but, there is a massive difference in seeing and hearing HM carry out her role and duty across the UK and the Commonwealth!
DeleteYou can not compare the two! One is in service of duty to others ! The other interview is in service of themselves! Promoting their brand to make money ! It’s as simple as that ! Ana
Véritable délice que cette couleur rose qui lui va à merveille ; avec ses bijoux en perles, c'est parfait mais j'aimerais mieux admirer sa broche que je ne crois pas avoir déjà vue ; qui pourrait me dire ?!

ReplyDeleteYet again HM is stepping up and holding digital meetings!
ReplyDeleteAnd looking divine in a spring pink dress. Ana
Her Majesty is The Queen of Australia. The statue is so correct as it depicts Her Majesty as she is usually seen on her visits to Australia; charming in her beautiful suits and hat. This statue and Government house is 10 min from my office; I certainly will be visiting there.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteI’ve always loved her in pink, especially worn with one of her gorgeous diamond brooches. It’s so sweet seeing her sitting on a cushion with more at her back. Reminds me of my dear mom who was also very petite. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely video, the Queen is so dedicated to service, no matter her age, health, or whatever is going on around her. She continues in the line of duty, even though a grandson, wife are trying to subvert her work by pushing themselves into the fore front of news media day after day. They will fade away, theirs is not true service, but a self-serving $$ making effort. However sad the Queen must be, she never wavers in her duty to country, family, self, and the true service to country and others. God Bless you Queen Elizabath. Anne
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
DeleteYes, the Queen has been seving her country and the Commonwealth throughout her life and still works even under such bad circumstances, unlike those two selfish attention and money seekers.

@ Ana, please get over it...
