Queen Letizia of Spain is making a 2 day working visit to Honduras on December 14 and 15 to receive more information about the situation in the country after the devastation caused by hurricanes Eta and Iota, and express the solidarity of the Spanish people in these difficult times. The Queen is being accompanied by the Minister for International Cooperation, Ángeles Moreno Bau.
There will be an aid package delivered by Spain to Honduras. Part of the aid being delivered includes rapid COVID test kits and in total, 120 tonnes of cargo is being transported from Spain to Honduras. This will be the most substantial amount of aid from the Spanish Cooperation Agency in the last ten years.

ReplyDeleteBecause she wants to see firsthand why the tons of food and first-aid materials have not reached the poor, starving residents or local hospitals
DeleteIt is extremely offensive to call COVID "China virus". You are being political in the worst way. This is not the time or the place.
DeleteShe is going because the people of Honduras have been devastated by Hurricanes Iota and Eta. Those details were included in the post, if you took the time to read it.
DeleteAlso, the proper terminology is SARS-CoV-2, or COVID-19. I like my blogs free of xenophobia. I'm surprised your comment was approved.
You have got to be kidding on multiple fronts
DeleteThree sentences. Two offensive, one racist. Hurray for you.
DeleteShe is carrying tests, blankets and beds. Spain will have the vaccine at the same time as the rest of the EU countries, it has not yet been approved in Europe. Spain always ready to help, they have been devastated by hurricanes, the rest of us are even better
DeleteThe levelof the virus in Spain is the lowest of Europe right now.
DeleteThe vaccines has not been aproved by the EU yet. It will be about January.
I am not sure about the vaccine as there are many people who suffer alergies and it is not proper for them.
DeleteThe level of the virus in Spain is under control right now, it is very worse in the rest of Europe as Switzerland, Germany , Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, etc.
Cherry Blossom! If you are out there, please let us know.
ReplyDeleteQueen Letizia has difficult work here; her clothes reflect this. Very important to keep feet clean and out of any refuse which the boots will do."
Her work is explaned above,

Even in work clothes and work boots, she is a class act.
ReplyDeleteAgree, except the material of the trousers - Demin would have been better.
DeleteAgree with Debra!
DeleteI think it is kind a "uniform", in the videos the rest wear a white shirt and same colour jeans.
DeleteYes she is a class act! She seems to work hard and always looks appropriate. (Perhaps if one wants to be provocative and make a point one could say Chinese totalitarian regime virus or something - after all it is true that country's government hid the truth initially as the virus spread. Totalitarian regimes care about the regime first, the people later. It always makes me think of Chernobyl.)
ReplyDeleteYou aren't being provocative - you're being racist and spreading rubbish.
DeleteAdmin - why delete one comment to just accept another?
Even though I disagree with Carla (nobody knows where this virus really comes from): her comment is not racist. Stop use this word where it does not fit.
DeleteIt is not racist to state the worldwide known fact that this virus came from China.
DeleteLady M
Stating which country this virus came from does not have anything to do with Letizia's visit. The virus is here, we are in a state of pandemic, and trying to gussy up the wording from the deleted post to Carla's verbiage does not change the meaning behind the message. Tagging this virus as "Chinese totalitarian regime virus or something" is no different than the original remark. It is political and inappropriate. Let's stay on point.
DeleteCarla, please go get on your soap box on another site, we come to this one to talk a little about fashion, and even though sometimes things deviate to other mundane subjects, your political discourse is not relevant nor eye opening.
ReplyDeleteShe looks fantastic and I won’t be redundant about why she made this trip, because participants above have said it loud and clear.
MM
Totally agreed.
DeleteLetizia is doing an excellent work.
She is there to help people and this is the only thing that matters.
Stop making unrelevant comments.
DeleteCoralie, are you for real? Nobody knows where the virus came from? the virus came from the wet market in Wuhan China, where they sell live animals. it was the same way where the SARS came from. I am Chinese. You westerner are so easy to be fooled. Because of naive people like you, the totalitarian regime can survive.
ReplyDeleteNo, Ladarlena, I am not naive (nor are "the westerner") and it is not my fault (nor is it "the westerners") that the totalitarian regime can survive.
DeleteWhat I wanted to say: in my job I have a to do with data analytics and when you talk to data scientists (I am none, I have another role in the IT industries) they say that the fact, that Covid-19 first was identified on some market in Wuhan, does not necessarily mean it originated there. There is a lot of data and very little really proofed knowledge. Viruses are a very complex thing and so is the human health. It would be interesting to know what scientists say in 100 years.
BTW, I think Queen Letizia is impeccable. Bravo to her tireless work ethic. Like the boots, wish to get a pair for my own.
