17 years old daughter of Princess Märtha Louise, Maud Angelica Behn was named the bravest woman of 2020 in Norway by Tara Magazine. Tara award was presented to her because she gave a sincere speech at her father's funeral in January where she told him goodbye and honored him, but also talked about mental illness and prevention of suicides and asked people to reach out for help.
Maud Angelica Behn is the eldest of three daughters of Ari Behn and Princess Märtha Louise. She impressed everyone with her strong speech in January for her father. In the event held at Vestlia Resort in Geilo this weekend, Maud Angelica received her award in the presence of Tara readers. She became the youngest awardee of the Bravest Woman of the Year in the 10 years history of Tara Award.
Love especially the last photo! So lovely, and in that picture she looks so much like her mother.
ReplyDeletePretty young confident lady . Maud seems to like boho style.
ReplyDeleteIt is heartwarming to see such joy expressed by Maud after such a difficult year. This beautiful young lady showed so much strength and poise at her father's funeral, and at a completely personal time, was able to address his suicide and let everyone know there is always help. This recognition was well deserved.
ReplyDeleteHer dress is perfect for her age and for the ceremony. It looks like she has matured since her father's death, as is so common, especially for the oldest child.
So good for her, in these hard days...
ReplyDeleteBravo.
ReplyDeleteHer ensemble look like a nice "fun" combination for a young person of her age.
A very impressive young lady. Not a great fan of her style but she's young and it's part of her individual personality. However, in the last photo, wearing that beautiful coloured jacket, she looks really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
DeleteShe did what most teenagers could not do upon the death of a parent (and with media scrutiny added to it). That last photo of her is very nice. ~Laurel~
ReplyDeleteThis brave and strong young lady really deserves this price.
ReplyDeleteHer speech at her fathers funeral was so hearttouching and made me cry. I admire her for finding so lovely words about her father and how she talked about his illness.
Totally agreed.
DeleteVery moving..
ReplyDeleteI love her jacket, especially the colors! She's an inspiring young lady...
ReplyDeleteAdorable sur la dernière photo.. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs de sa veste ; elle est devenue une très jolie jeune fille dont nous devrions nous inspirer !

ReplyDeleteMaud shared the on her instgram account 3_eyed_cat: Yesterday I won the price of this year's bravest woman in Norway! I won it because I held a public speech at my dads funeral in January where I told him goodbye an honored him, but also talked about mental illness and asked people to reach out for help. Since my dad committed suicide I had a special perspective. Since I am a partbof the Royal family I wanted to use that opportunity and position for something good. And also get some value out of the grief me and my family went through and help some other people! Hopefully so that someone out there can avoid the realityme and my family had to experience! Or feel less alone if they already sadly had to go through the same thing. I truly can't describe or express how much this means to me! And how much I appreciate all the praise and love and support. I'm so thankful I was able to achieve something and help people! I am just blown away and speechless! Thank you everyone for everything and I love you all!
ReplyDeleteHer mother shared this on her account: I am so proud to be her mom. I am so proud to witness that even in her darkest moments at her father's funeral, she remembered to give love and comfort to others. She actually saved lives that day and continues to use forward for a more loving world opening up the space to discuss mental health and normalising it. We need to listen more to youngsters. You carry a key to saving the world the rest of us have lost. Please continue. And this is to all young people today: please speak up. Let your voices be heard. We need you!
Footnote: It true Maud saved lives. The metal help organisations in Norway said later that they have never had so many people asking for help after they heard Mauds speech. She's an amazing young woman! So well deserved!
