Opening the video, The Duke of Cambridge recalls the tireless efforts of first responders during the deadly bushfire season in late 2019 and early 2020. "We witnessed thousands of firefighters, supported by the wider first responder community, who worked tirelessly risking their own lives to protect Australian communities from the devastating wildfires," he says. "The world was watching your efforts and we were deeply moved by what we saw."
The Duchess of Cambridge adds: "Sadly, you're now on the frontline of yet another emergency. The COVID-19 outbreak has brought first responders across Australia together again. "Day in, day out paramedics, police, firefighters and support staff work tirelessly to keep everybody safe, often risking not only their physical health but also their mental well-being."

The video was recorded from the couple’s Anmer Hall home in Norfolk on the Sandringham Estate where they have been isolating with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The Duchess recycled a yellow Roksanda Ilincic dress which she first wore in Sydney in 2014.

Agree, I also always liked her "You look like a banana"-dress :-)
DeleteI really like the Cambridges semi-official. Frieda
ReplyDeleteAs always... A lovely young couple!!!
ReplyDeleteHope they could sound a little bit more relax. They are just reading the words from the paper and it sounds too stilted. - Lisa
ReplyDeleteNo it doesn't. They sound fine. They're making a speech not having a casual conversation.
DeleteSuperbe robe mais je ne vois pas si Kate la porte aussi bien qu'en 2014 à Sydney !
ReplyDeleteLoved this dress when Catherine first wore it. Love the bright summery colour.
ReplyDeleteAs an Aussie, this has been much appreciated and very uplifting. The Duchess looks as beautiful in the same dress she wore on that sunny day at the Opera House in Sydney 6 years ago, it is a testament to her that she wore it again, bravo! A heartfelt message from the Royal couple, they are a great team.
ReplyDeleteYes as an Australian ;I can identify with what they are talking about,my husband and I evacuated our property 3 times;as the fire came so close. The CFS did a fantastic job and thanks to all those people in our town Gumeracha;even the local shop stayed open;when they could have evacuated. The young Royals do a fantastic job;I believe they were supposed to be coming to Australia prior to the China Virus.
DeleteIt is the Corona Virus or Covid-19 NOT the China Virus.

I am happy to see this dress return. I thought Catherine looked so beautiful the first time wearing it. What a great tribute to Australia. They are such a wonderful couple. I have really enjoyed seeing everything they are doing to keep everyone encouraged and supported.

They should back away from the camera. Close ups do not do either of them any favors.
