| On 11 July, 2019, King Philippe of Belgium visited the King’s office for the recordings of his speech for Belgium's National Day. During the office visit, Crown Princess Elisabeth accompanied her father. The national holiday of Belgium is celebrated annually on July 21st. Independence Day celebrates the separation of Belgium from the Netherlands in 1831, as well as the formal establishment of the Kingdom. |

ReplyDeleteI think that King Philippe (and also Queen Mathilde, of course) are doing a great job in preparing Princesss Elisabeth, The Duchess of Brabant, for her role as future queen.

ReplyDeleteHe recorded a speech, to be televised on the occasion of Belgian National Day. She was with him to learn how to do such things and to get an impression of what work is involved in being a king (or a queen, for that matter). It was his job to appear formal and dignified in front of the camera, she was only behind the scenes, looking on and being introduced to some of the workload. So, nothing formal on her accounts. Her outfit is completely age appropriate and matches the occasion as well.

DeleteWell said DSC. You got the context right. She was just right dressed for that look behind the scenes. She was not seen on the recording. She was there to learn what a workday of a future queen is all about. Her parents do a great job preparing this lovely young lady for her future role.

ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt. She is an almost perfect mixture of her great grandmother Queen Astrid and her grandmother Queen Paola as a very young woman.
