The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a photo taken during their Botswana trip in 2017

Yesterday, (April 4, 2019), The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared on Instagram a photo taken during their Botswana trip in 2017. The photo shows The Duke and Duchess putting a satellite collar on a sedated bull elephant to help keep the animal safe from poachers. (The photo of Harry and Meghan is part of a slideshow of five photos.)
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared on Instagram a photo taken during their Botswana
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the trip to Africa to help Dr. Mike Chase of Elephants Without Borders. The Duke and Duchess shared a message with the photo: "Approximately 100 elephants are killed every day for their ivory tusks. Using satellite technology allows conservationists to track their critical migratory patterns and to protect them and the local communities from human wildlife conflict."

The message continues: "The elephant pictured was sedated for just 10 minutes before he was up and back with his herd. Tracking his movements has allowed conservationists to better protect him and other elephants and ensure heightened protection for these beautiful creatures moving forward."

It seems like Meghan is handling the tools and I am sure Harry though it was very sexy. :) This was early into their relationship, I am sure it was a very special moment for the two of them bonding over their love for wild life.

    2. Thanks, Rosalyn (beautiful name, by the way).
And, in anticipation of whingers, I'm adding a fashion note that they are perfectly dressed for this particular environment and the accomplishment of a dusty and honorable job.

    3. O thank you Pine, that is very kind of you!
I'll be honest: It's a nickname but lots of people use them, so I'm not the only one. But I love the name too and often use it. I love writing and Rosalyn is my pseudonym :-)

As this site is named Hollywood Fashion, I do not see much of what she is wearing from this pic.

I also had this thought Anon 5:02. But when I read your comment I knew those on this site would have a sharp response and I see not just these three but other comments further down. It seems only those who love Meghan can write comments without being attacked.

Fashion is not necessarily formal or dressy. I think they are very fashionable for the occasion. Love the caps!

  8. It is disappointing that such good work has to be criticized because Meghan is involved. It makes no difference how she is dressed. This blog veers from fashion frequently in these discussions. The focus should be on the difference they are making. Shame on those that can't stop finding something negative to say even on this occasion.

  9. Why do you read it as negative because it's Meghan, Chardonn8r? I read it merely as a statement of fact. I have seen similar written about photos of Crown Princess Victoria in hiking gear or Crown Princess Mary in army fatigues.

    1. You are right, Annie. But Chardonn8r wants to accuse others of "hate" and "shame" and whatever as soon as Meghan is concerned.

    5. Coralie, yes I do like to do some occasional stirring, but unlike you, it's to elevate, and offer critique without delving on judgment about people that I absolutely know nothing about. I prefer to empower women rather than be petty, and if I ever cross the line, I don't mind being called on it.

    6. Coralie, sometimes it is not worth saying anything. Your sniping is not becomming. I don't care who is trying to save the endangered elephants, I am thrilled to see it is happening. Complaining about it being on this blog is petty. This was not meant to be a fashion moment. This is one of those times you honor the act. Nothing more needed to be said. There are plenty of times I don't comment because I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said, or I don't have anything positive to say. This not about running to Meghan's defense. I would say the same thing no matter who it was.

If you need opinions on fashion, refer to Anon 12:00 pm below. I fully agree.

I applaud the efforts of the Sussex's; I don't care what they're wearing.
I hope this site doesn't devolve into a site that only chimes in on fashion. While we always can judge that, I think we have to appreciate the visits and associations that royals have for their patronages. It can't be easy to be apolitical given the events of the governmental issues many of the European countries are experiencing.

They are both wearing light clothing and hats to repel the strong tropical sun. These 'safari' colours also blend in well with the environment. They are wearing sturdy shoes. It is obvious that the ground is uneven. This is what fashion looks like when doing a 'close up' with nature. It is good to see them getting their hands dirty for one of their causes and good on Ms. Electra for showing that their life is not just about designer clothes and tiaras.
