You are talking about Jane Birkin! Once she has been a fashion icon. After the death of her daughter she became very ill. I'm very glad that she obviously feels better now.
And the young woman next to her is Charlotte Gainsbourg - she's still today a fashion icon.
I think today´s high fashion is just dressing as unbecoming and ugly clothes you can. I just see photos of snowy Paris, this chick here is with bare legs. The other looks really as having a brake from fields at Walton family times. Charlotte, also her clothes lack all style and beauty, sequin blouse made to look collage blouse. Best tittle goes to Catherine Deneuve and she looks like still practicing to Umbrellas of Cherbourg film (1964).
I like Charlotte Gainsbourg, but this photo of her bare legs is horrible. As for Charlotte Casiraghi - such a beautiful woman! Why does she dress like that?
I think Charlotte looks lovely - the top isn't OTT with sparkles and she keeps the rest of the outfit simple. I like the make up with the smokey eyes. I find the fringe that kept flopping over her eyes mildly annoying but generally I like this look.
Catherine Deneuve was stunning when she was younger and she still looks good. I think Jane Birkin could have made more of an effort and her daughter is very "fashiony " - and cold!
Neither Catherine Deneuve or Jane Birkin, nor Charlotte Casiraghi look like in their twenties - normal, when you live your life and sometimes life isn't always good to you. Except the missing tights on Charlottes legs they are all dressed appropriately. It's a parisian fashion show with people who are really interested in fashion, not like Hollywood people with their wish of public showcasing.
If showing your legs up to your navel is old-fashion. Then I prefer to be called old-fashion. There is nothing fashionable about it, just tacky, in my opinion.
"Painful" images. Nothing about fashion here. Catherine Deneuve knows how to wear Make-up. Well done. The pret-a-porter shows are not what they have been for decades anymore. Nowhere. Same thing with the street-style in France. Can't find the look of Ines de la Fressange so much anymore. It is rare now.
The style of Ines de la Fressange is often boring, street fashion is sometimes embarrassing but creative (mostly). Street fashion from young people (or old people like Iris Apfel) is often an inspiration for fashion designers.
Nice to see Catherine Deneuve.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the person with eyeglasses - she looks like she's ready to go work on a farm...
I would say she and the one next to her (bare legs)are totally out of place at a fashion show, judging by their style of clothing.

DeleteCharlotte Gainsbourg is the daugther of Jane Birkin aswell..
DeleteCatherine Deneuve is ageing well
ReplyDeleteI met Catherine Deneuve in 2006 at the Marché aux Puces de Vances. It was very early and freezing cold. She was very gracious. She complimented my French and we conversed for a few minutes. She looked amazing. Her skin (little or no makeup) was flawless, her hair shiny and her all-black outfit, très chic.

Also perfectly normal when you aren't in your twenties - which none of them are.
DeleteFrench women (OK one is british) are always so effortlessly chic. Nice to see Jane & Catherine here.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte is Monegasque and Italian! Not French.
