Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie of York and Princess Beatrice of York attend the annual Trooping The Colour parade on June 17, 2017 in London. |
HM, Catherine (that colour looks great on her!) and Camilla look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe York sisters look silly, as usual.
DeleteAll the others look well groomed but York sisters unkempt as if they have never heard of hairdressers. I think that is the biggest thing making them look always like they are in wrong place. All others have also stylish hats and simple well cut clothes with long sleeves, but York girls go with completely wrong style hats to their faces and clothes and with badly cut clothes.
DeleteCatherine looks lovely, but why does horrible clothes for the kids?

ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to Timothy Lawrence, he looks so unhappy, and it is no secret that he
and Anne are basically seperated, that they are trapped in a loveless marriage, and due to
loyalty to the Queen that they've got to "stick" it out, and can't divorce. He was such a
dashing man, and look now how the stress of non-excistant marriage, and a very bossy wife
show on his face. Hang in there, Tim!
And you know this how. People like you should stop believing what they read.
DeleteSo royalty fan you got your inside knowledge from whom exactly.??
DeleteOn another site you can see the couple friendly chatting on the balcony! The Princess Royal stands next to Prince Harry, very much in the background. One has not the impression that they could be unhappy with each other. After a certain age many couples have their own routine of daily live- which means not, that they don't love each other anymore...
DeleteGosh, I have seen photos of Princess Anne and Timothy Lawrence with Princess Anne's grandchildren and they all seem very close and happy, which I hope they are.
DeleteI really don't think this is the place to make comments about the condition of Royal marriages. Perhaps Sir Timothy Lawrence was caught in a bad camera shot who knows and why should we ask. He and Anne have been together for years and if things were really bad between them they would have spilt up, even though the tabloids would have loved it.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, elegant and chic looking Duchess of Cambridge. The colour is beautiful. The children looked adorable.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice ans Eugenie look lovely. I love Bea's hat!
ReplyDeletePrincess Charlotte is beacoming a real princess :) lovely hair.
ReplyDeleteMore photos! The kids are gorgeous. Their clothes are cute - the English upper class version of formal wear for toddlers, lol.
ReplyDeleteAgree--I love formal English children's wear! These photos will blend with the centuries.
DeleteKate knows how to make herself stand out. Great outfit choice. Very Jackie O.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteMe too! And the photos of her and little Charlotte are so adorable!
DeleteCatherine looks so beautiful in deep rose--perfection. Elegant suit.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that the York girls obviously listen to no one about what they wear. Just like their unfortunate mother. Beatrice looks a bit better than usual but still fussed up and unable to grasp that less is more. Eugenie wore a 50s house dress.
I am so over these ridiculous costumes laden with medals. To me they look so stupid. Like something a dictator of a banana Republic would wear.
ReplyDeleteIt was unusually warm in London today. Soldiers in the parade passed out, about half a dozen of them, in their bear-skin helmets. So it was very wise of the two elderly gentlemen, The Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Kent, to not wear the complete uniform plus bear-skin helmets. Instead, they opted for the slightly lighter to wear morning-suits plus medals of the regiments involved. It has absolutely nothing to do with often odd costumes of banana-repubic dicators, as you said. It all made perfectly sense.
DeleteI wonder if they should have ditched that expensive event for a general mourning about the horrible fire in London and the many dead adults and kids. Those are the tragedies. Some countries would have put their flags on "halfmast" and decide for a day of general mourning.- I know exactly what some may answer now, nethertheless, it's my opinion and it breaks my heart, while here is all the glamour and money.
DeleteAbout fashion, I think the kid's clothes are coming from Spain often. (Nanny's inspiration and home-country?)- The Queen, Camilla and Catherine choosed good colours together. Just that hat makes Catherine older and a bit "oldfashioned". And no, I do not think that it is very "Jackie O." as noticed before...-
Little Charlotte is the image of the Queen, and George will mostly look like his Dad, Granddad Charles, Great-Granddad Philip. Strong genes in Royalty. The Queen seems to observe George carefully on the first picture:).
Rainha, I have to chime in and agree with you about the Jackie O comments. Any time Kate wears a suit in a distinctive color, with a matching hat, there's all sorts of erroneous (in my opinion) Jackie O comparisons. I know it's petty of me, but it gets on my nerves. Glad to see you point it out. I also agree that Charlotte very much favors her Great Grandmother!
DeleteBlack Alien; Those medals are from orders, foreign mostly. Prince Philip has probably all there can be reach, younger generation less. Prince William´s medals are Queen Elizabeth II golden and diamond jubilee medals. They are not reached after wars or military things.
DeletePrincess charlotte exactly looks like aunt pippa!!
ReplyDeleteExcept the orange shade😊
???
DeletePippa?? It's been noted that Charlotte resembles the Queen and her Grandmother Carole. I do see both. But can't really see Pippa....
DeleteChippy 95, I saw her aunt Pippa in Charlotte when she was a little baby. Now, I ser Queen Elizabeth!
DeleteI have neen trying to link a YouTube site called The Royal Reviewer from Shropshire that contains photos comparing George and William and Charlotte and her GanGan, Queen Elizabeth, but I cannot. I hope Hellen won't mind if I mention the site. It is not a comment blog.
DeletePippa?? Don't see it myself. Charlotte is very much like the Queen and her maternal grandmother Carol
DeletePippa?? I don't see it myself. Charlotte looks very much like the Queen and her maternal grandmother Carole.
DeleteY'all have never seen pippa minus the fake tan spray, heavy make up and hard eyeliner.Time will say.Charlotte looks like pippa!!!!
Deletewell yeah she's carrying the torch for the middleton's genes..she is basically the young version of Carole and yeah if Pippa does look like Carole then Charlotte is an annointed Middleton. Even George is carrying a resemblance to her mother these days..yes he does look like Prince William now and then because her mother dresses him like his child father but when he's distressed (in many instances) he looks just like young Kate. Don't have to agree on that but everyone has their own opinion based on their own image reception.
DeleteI agree with you 1304,we only have handful of images and videos of them so it is difficult to make them out
DeleteCatherine looks lovely in that shade of pink and I love her hair up with the hat. I would like to see a picture of the bottom of the dress - I'm curious if the length is the same as on the model.
ReplyDeleteI also like Camilla's outfit - she has found a style that works for her.
Charlotte looks very pretty in her pink smocked dress but I have to say I think George looks as if he is auditioning to be in The Sound of Music.
I can't see enough of what Beatrice and Eugenie ate wearing to comment but to be honest I don't think they look either outstandingly bad or good.
LOL on Sound of Music. And I like his outfit, but that did make me laugh.
DeleteThe 5th picture of Catherine and Charlotte is beautiful. Charlotte is a a very pretty little one. Catherine's green eyes are striking. I am trying to figure out the color of Charlotte's eyes--dark blue or green like her mother's?
DeletePrincess Charlotte is t.h.e. spitting image of her great grand ma! Almost uncanny!
ReplyDeleteAgree, Mikey. And Hellen has now posted two photos above of the Queen and Charlotte peering out of a window. (Thank you, Hellen!) They bear a striking multi-generational resemblance-- right down to the expression!
DeleteYes, these new photos are lovely!
DeleteI miss Countess Sophie! She is always one of the best dressed englisch Ladys!!
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks lovely. I love her outfit and hat and I adore those earrings. The whole ensemble is perfection. I am going to sound picky, but hats look so much better when hair is worn up or well styled as Catherine did here.
ReplyDeleteI wish the York sisters would take a leaf out of their Grandmother's style book, always spot on and perfectly groomed.
Does anyone know who the sweet little girl with the braid in back is in the 7th and 9th photos? She is between Autumn and Catherine is smiling at her. She looks to be around 7 years old...
ReplyDeleteSeems to be Lyla, the daughter of Lady Rose Gilman, and therefore granddaughter of the Duke and the Duchess of Gloucester. The child was born in 2010.
DeleteThank you, DSC. That would make sense given her birth year.
DeleteI was also wondering about Cosima, another granddaughter of the Gloucesters (daughter of their son). I thought I saw Cosima's mother, Cheri, on the balcony in one of the photos. Her older brother is Xan.
Kate is picture perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt's all nice and elegant, but something is off for me. Not sure if that is the shine of the fabric on top of the terribly bright colour or just that it's a little unexpected given the somber, reflective mood in England at the moment. But pretty as she and the outfit are, overall this is not a win for me. A more subdued look would be very much more appropriate. Even the queen decided to not stand out and also repeated an outfit from several years ago. And the fact that Autumn Philips is also brightly dressed doesn't excuse her either. For all the 'dressing appropriate for the occasion' mantra, this one doesn't work. Doesn't matter to me that she may have planned this a while back. She wore it today. And it felt wrong.
ReplyDeletethe last pair of pics is awesome! They look so much alike, like the same coin in different views.
ReplyDeleteI know, it is not about fashion, people. But you heard about the horrible forest fires in Portugal and many dead people? Well: 3 days of state mourning in Portugal!!! Why is this not possible in United Kingdom??
ReplyDeleteNext day, after this balcony-scene here: horse race again, for the Royals and so on.
What a world... And yes, I love! Fashion, Royalty... Otherwise I would not comment. But it is really a pity.
Because that's not how we do it here - we keep calm and carry on. It doesn't mean we don't care, it's just a different way of doing things.
DeleteRainha Leonor, I agree with you. For me this celebration is imposible to understand after the recent terrible events in Great Britain.
DeleteFranny you beat me to it ! The Royal Family are a constant, and with all that the UK has experienced so far this year, that is what is needed, a calm constant. By them carrying out their duties does not by any means, that the horrors of the last couple of months is far from theirs, or anyone's thoughts.
DeleteThe uplifting images were of the children. Charlotte looked to be taking it all in her stride, George, looked at times a little bemused by it all.
