On November 19, 2024, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited Désiré Van Monckhoven Primary School in Ghent during "Reading Aloud Week" (Voorleesweek), which takes place from November 16 to 24, 2024. Belgian Queen Mathilde read aloud alongside a member of DITO vzw’s Reading Squad as part of the initiative.
This week, Ghent elementary schools are hosting DITO vzw, an organization by and for people with disabilities. DITO vzw is a group of (young) adults with disabilities or chronic illnesses who read aloud to children aged 5 to 12 at schools and other locations.
"Reading Aloud Week" is an annual initiative by the non-profit organization "Iedereen Leest" (Everybody Reads), aimed at highlighting the importance and joy of reading aloud. This year, the slogan for Reading Aloud Week is "Reading Aloud Enriches Your World."
I love the whole outfit! QM has some wonderful Dries pieces and like this interesting coat, they always fit and suit her very well. The blue tailored suit with matching shoes is excellent too - prefect fit and great colour. The white earrings are a good finishing touch adding just a bit of whimsy. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteShe looks so much better without that coat. On the model it looks like a bathrobe.
ReplyDeleteCet élégant manteau floral porté sur cette combinaison blanche/bleu roi est parfaite pour Mathilde ; comme d'habitude, bon choix que ces boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteI like Mathilda’s sleek blue pantsuit on her. I do not like the floral coat slung over her shoulders with this outfit - I don’t think it looks right with the pantsuit. I might like it better if styled differently.

Le tailleur est super beau
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
I like her coat, the generous cut works well to be on her shoulders for warmth to and from the car. Roomy enough that she can wear over a pant suit. Pattern is nice as is the coluour, adds interest
ReplyDeleteTrès beau tailleur bleu qui lui va bien. La tunique blanche ajoute de la luminosité. Belles chaussures mais pas vraiment de saison. Le manteau : non pour moi. Paloma.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful suit in a beautiful color--Queen Mathilde looks smashing here!

Class, class, class!
ReplyDeleteI love queen Mathilde's new outfit. She looks always loverly in cobalt bllue. The The blue is coming back in the pattern of the coat. Her blue shoes are by Armani. Her handbag is new. It is the "Emanuelle" in the color "Oyster" by new Belgian brand Voort Studio.
ReplyDeleteLove the coat, pant suit and earrings. The shoes and purse are nice enough but I'd like to see Q Mathilde punch it up in those categories. The shoes are nicer than her standard stilletos but something lower and blockier might be fun.

DeleteYou should take a look at Queen Mathilde's collection of handbags. There are not many queens who have so many handbags, clutches, minaudières, .... in all kind of colors to match her shoes and outfits.
The same for her shoes. She has a shoe collection in all possible colors, from high heels, kitten heels, loafers, ballerina's, to sneakers, etc. All her shoes and handbags are from well known haute couture brands and well known shoe brands, The same for her handbags....
The little bag she is wearing here is not a purse but a real shoulder bag (the shoulder strap is hidden in the bag). She and CP Elisabeth are buying handbags of new Belgian designers which is perfect. The last 2 brands they bought are KAAI handbags and handbags by Voort STUDIOS.
I love the whole outfit. The coat, is unique, so lovely. The blue pantsuit, perfect! the fit and color looks fabulous. Her shoes are a great color. Her hair style looks natural. I really love her interaction with the children, great fun and stimulating to read to the group. Well done Ma'am.
