Greek Filippos Lemos and Marianna Goulandris got married at the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sophia near Hyde Park, west London on February 4th. Among the guests in attendance King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Ariane, Queen Sofia, Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg, Princess Beatrice, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, Princess Michael, Princess Maria Olympia, Queen Anne Marie, Princess Tatiana and Princess Irene. |
Alexia and Ariane are such pretty flower girls! I love the velvet capes for the London weather.
ReplyDeleteMaxima looks gorgeous here!
ReplyDeleteMaxima looks fantastic, her hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteThe Dutch royals looks absolutely beautiful!!!.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't degree.
ReplyDeleteWhy so many royals in attendance? What is the connection?
ReplyDeleteApparently the couple both come from very wealthy European families that know a lot of royal families. There's an article about their wedding on DM but it doesn't give out that much info about their royal connections.

Who is wearing a psychedelic dress & purple hose? Beatrice should ditch that ugly coat.
ReplyDeleteMarie Chantal, as the crown princess of a non-existent throne, likes to be seen, I guess. As for the Dutch and Beatrice, I wonder what connection they have to Greeks.
ReplyDeleteDutch royals owns a villa in Greece, maybe they have some greek friends.
DeleteBeatrice is the great-granddaughter of a Prince of Greece and she knows many young (parrty-) people I think.
Queen Sofia of Spain was a wedding guest as well. She is the sister of King Constantine of Greece.
Hope this information helps a bit.
The Dutch royals have already a longtime friendship with ex-King Constantine and his family, sister Queen Sofia etc. , obvious they meet all kind of Greek "High Society" people! I see the whole Greek pattern in this wedding! Kind regards from Greece!!
DeleteBy-the-way: Princess Beatrice is a granddaughter, she is the daughter of Prince Andrew, who is the son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip who was born in Greece!
I think it's silly that Marie Chantal and her family even still go by their "royal titles".
DeleteChelsea, it is more than silly. My greek collegues say that since the nation passes through that ongoing crisis there have been quite a lot of elderly and old people committing suicide, due to poverty and fear! The wedding-people on the photos above obviously have lost every connection to the people in greece!

DeleteMaxima looks lovely, including her hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why no one has mentioned that the CP is wearing a very strange outfit for a 13 year old. Am I the only one who thinks so?
Heather you are not alone. But my comment wasn't published.
DeleteThat is a pity, Romana! Somehow I feel I would have agreed to your comment...
DeleteI love the attire of the Crown Princess. The black is chic with the extraordinary embroidery and very romantic with the rose florals.
DeleteBlack is fine for formal occasions nowadays as long as it is an appropriate style (not too sombre, nor flashy, and fitting with the time of day and weather).
I vote her "best dressed" of the guests in the photos I have seen of this wedding.

ReplyDeleteI am not commenting on any of these dresses, because apart from the bride's gown they are all beyond words, even the flower girls look ridiculous. And even when there is a collection of ugly dresses, Beatrice manages to be worst.
ReplyDeleteBut - it is a good hair day for Maxima. Hooray! But this shows that with a little effort Maxima can reach an acceptable result even with her straight thin hair. Wash your hair in the morning, give it a treatment with conditioner, throw some big pin curlers on your head, you can do this while you make breakfast for the kids. Before you leave the house, give it a brush and some twists with the curling tongs. It's easy!
I agree. Hooray for hair! Uggh but Beth! I am a sucker for this Elie Saab coral. I loved it when it was worn by CP Victoria to the christianing also.
DeleteMaxima is mooi gekleed . De oudste dochter is net oma Beatrix. Maar dat kan nog veranderen.
ReplyDeleteMarie Chantel: i don t like the dress, old fashion, i think it is realy an old dress.
ReplyDeleteMaxima's hair looks good. The dress looks like a nightgown, the tobacco brown shoes don't match. Last but not least she definitely needs a better bra because even small breasts will lose the battle against gravity in the end.
ReplyDeleteYes. Tighten those straps!
DeleteQueen Maxima looks very beautiful. I didn't like that Elie Saab dress on Crown Princess Victoria but on Maxima it looks tons better (perhaps due to Maxima's gorgeous hairstyle and her fair hair).
ReplyDeletePrincess Catharina-Amalia have grown so much (and not only in height!). Did not like her outfit.
Love princess Princess Catharina-Amalia outfit, especially her coat. She is a lovely young lady and future queen. Older mature women should know better than making rude comments about a pre-teen young women. Obviously those making rude comments about the fashions have no taste or style.
ReplyDeleteI would not think to comment on a young person about anything other than the clothes being worn. This is a fashion blog and her photo is here so I think a comment is not out of line.
ReplyDeleteI think the CP is wearing a strange and ugly outfit that is not appropriate for a girl her age - or any age, for that matter. That's it. No further comment.
It seemed to be an occasion for horrible dressing. Go look at other sites and see the shoes worn by the bride! More money than taste...
I did see on another site (no idea if it's true) that C-A was wearing a Self-Portrait dress and coat from her mother's wardrobe.
DeleteWhat I think is odd are the lapels on King Willem's jacket. What a wrinkly mess. They must not travel with a valet to help him get ready.
ReplyDelete😂 thank you for pointing this out!
DeleteI like the guys' morning suits/waist coats. Love Q Max.'s dress n all.
