On July 27, 2019, The son of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, Louis Ducruet got married to Marie Chevallier with a religious wedding held at Monaco Cathedral. Yesterday, a private civil wedding ceremony took place at Prince's Palace of Monaco, attended by the members of the family. Marie Chevallier wore a jumpsuit designed by Barcelona's famous bridal designer Rosa Clará at her civil wedding ceremony. Today, a religious wedding took place. At the religious wedding, Marie Chevallier wore a wedding dress designed by Atelier Boisanger and Pauline Ducruet (Alter Design). |
Nice outfit for the civil wedding just don't care of it being a jumpsuit. Would like to see the real Wedding dress there was one pic, no Tiara it seem to be a lovely dress. I wish them a very happy Life together.
DeleteTiaras on non-royals? She'd be bashed so hard for that! I love the jumpsuit! She is stunning! Princess Charlene wears jumpsuits to black tie events & always looks great. Civil services are private, and I've never seen a white dress at one, so this is new too. They seem very happy, hope this first year of marriage has been wonderful!
DeleteThe civil ceremony outfit is actually very flattering to Marie. I hope that we see more photos of the wedding gown she wore to the catherdral. The neckline and flowers are pretty from what can be seen as she sits in the car.
ReplyDeleteOh my! What a beautiful jumpsuit as a civil wedding dress. Her religious wedding dress is designed by Pauline Ducruet with Atelier Boisanger.
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful bride!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Charl...ene?!
ReplyDeleteNot everybody is invited.
DeleteI wonder as well!
DeleteCharlene didn't show at Andrea and Beatrice's weddings so its not unusual. ofcourse she and her husband were invited, perhaps she had other things to do
DeleteCharlene is there. Look closely at PICTURE one in the background she is holding Gabriella while Albert is holding Jacque 💕
DeleteHi Winnie, I would love that you are right, however I have doubts about your observation. The picture is not clear but I think the parents holding young children are othe discreet people... and to me the children are younger than J&Gabr
DeleteEt Albert aurait beaucoup maigri !
DeleteCharlene attended the civil ceremony. Now you can see a new picture with her behind the married couple. There are lots of pictures in instagram, f.ex. @eugeniagaravani.
DeleteYes Zuchina is right, tne new picture is clear about that. We can only guess about the reasons. None appears to be a good one in my view!
DeleteYou can see Charlene behind the married couple in the picture before the last one (picture 21).
DeleteAre you blind? Charlene (no clue why you added the ellipses in the middle of her name) is standing next to her husband. I'm surprised any of these photos were made public to be picked apart like this, as the Ducruets are not royal & don't want to be. The big family crowds in the pix made me happy! Wow. Some diseased hearts around here.
DeleteI love the jumpsuit! Very appropriate and very bridal for a civil ceremony. I think Rosa Clará designs are some of the most beautiful, and they have not disappointed here. It is very special to have had Charlotte's input on her wedding gown. The only other pictures I have seen of Marie's gown are the sketches. It is reported that the gown has 300 hours of embroidery. I hope we will see more pictures soon.
ReplyDeleteIt was not Charlotte's input it was Pauline's.
DeleteYes! I realized afterwards that I had put the wrong name after reading information about the dress, wedding and guests on different sites. I wish we could edit...Thanks for the correction!
DeleteNow *that* was a classy response. If someone corrected me like that, in public? Well, now i know how to respond. Thank you, chardonn8r! And it is sweet that her new sister-in-law helped with the dress. I love how the whole Grimaldi family and their kids support one another. They really love each other a lot. THAT is right. That is the legacy.
DeleteAll the best to the very happy young couple!! Princess Caroline and Beatrice Borromeo and Tatiana Santo Domingo hit the nail, very royal, elegant and beautiful with their hats! Disappointed by the beautiful Charlotte's mini-dress, and her husband is never smiling. Why? - I do not know what to think about the groom's mother, Princess Stephanie and her outfit. A bit to youthful-girlie for that occasion. And to clingy to hang on her firstborn's arm on his wedding-picture. Is she afraid to lose him? (Where is Charlene?)
ReplyDeletestephanie hangs on her son and it looks as he married his mother. Yes and it is unbelieveable that she and Caroline and .. didn´t invite Charlene. Maybe Charlene is lucky to be not at this family-event, they do not look very happy on the pic.
DeleteHow do you know that Charlene was not invited? You know nothing about it.
DeleteYes, it is unbelievable - and extremely unlikely. Why would Caroline be involved in deciding on the guest list for her nephew's wedding? Especially as Charlene was there at Charlotte's wedding - with Caroline.
DeleteNo idea why she wasn't there but then there are so many events where people expect to see her and she doesn't go. Not everything can be laid at the door of her "evil" sisters-in-law.
Maybe Charlene had a little hangover from the Red Cross-ball the evening before? I can't see her or the kids...-
DeleteAbout the new pics: Wow, Princess Stephanie in her canary-yellow outfit(dissapointing as well as her hair) is sending her signals, still clinging to her son. It would have been better, if she and ex-husband Daniel Ducruet had symbolise a bit of a unity as the parents of the groom on this photo. As a bride I would dislike this behaviour on my wedding pictures.
I like the simple first outfit of the bride, but can't handle the other 2 wedding-dresses. A simple "No" for my taste. I wish them a wonderful long life together and much happiness!
Ah ah ah !
DeleteWow. Look up the phrase "old biddies". That's what the comments about HSH Princess Charlene - who absolutely was invited and absolutely did attend - or HRH Princess Caroline inviting people to a Ducruet wedding sound like. LOL How sick & sad that lying about strangers is enjoyed by anyone.
DeleteWhere is Charlene?
ReplyDeleteshe was there, thou it does not show clearly on the photos on this blog
DeleteShe definitely didn't attend. There is a picture from inside the cathedral on another blog showing Albert and Caroline together, they have special seats separated from the rest of the congregation. No trace of Charlene.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a nice, ordinary couple who just happen to be part of extended Monaco Princely Family. And that's what I like about them - their apparent normality, their obvious happiness.
ReplyDeleteI like both Marie's looks but I especially like the Rosa Clara jumpsuit for the civil ceremony as well as her hair and jewellery. Well done to Pauline for her work on Marie's gown. And what a lovely thing for Marie to have asked her to do.
Wish we could see a bit more of the guests - Charlotte's look is nothing special, Beatrice is wearing one of Caroline's hats and Tatians might be as well. Alexandra seems to be wearing a pink dress she has worn before - to a wedding or a fashion show. Shame we can only see Caroline's head and can't really see what Pauline is wearing. I like Stephanie's look but would love to see it more clearly as there seems to be some detail on the dress. A lighter colour looks good on her.
Marie looks so much better in the Rosa Clara outfit for the civil ceremony, it fits her well is elegant and very well done. It was nice to ask Pauline to make the religious wedding dress, but imo it doesn't suit her figure and makes her look heavier. Stephanie looks cute but like an overgrown teenager, and why is she holding on to her son in the group picture? It's hard to see what everybody else is wearing...
ReplyDeleteNinius, well remarked...
DeleteAgree, well said.
DeleteMarie looks beautiful in both her wedding dresses, IMO.
DeleteThe pics from the religious ceremony are not photoshopped as the privat pics from the civil probably are? Sorry, we didn't see a front pic of her whole jumpsuit.
Great to see Louis cousins were there … a real family wedding <3
The jumpsuit looks great on Marie and is perfect for a civil ceremony. Wish we had a better a Marie's dress- a shot of just her and Daniel. Would have loved to see the bridesmaids dresses- you can barely see Camille in the picture. Beautiful pictures and are glad they were shared just not the best for viewing the guests attire- cannot see Pauline's, Caroline’s, etc outfits. I love Beatrice sense of style- she rarely misses in my book and would love to see her outfit.
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely. The jumpsuit is fantastic. The wedding dress designed in part by her sister in law is also lovely. Nice to see that she stuck to classic pieces and nothing “edgy”.
ReplyDeleteLove the Rosa Clarà outfit , so simple and yet with the twist if being a jumpsuit, and it fits her to perfection. Can’t opine much about the church dress, as pictures aren’t great, but I don’t like the fit around the bust area, it looks somehow unflattering. Love the color of Stefanie’s dress, she looks great on it, I also wish that I could see the detail.
ReplyDeleteRainha, what’s wrong with holding arms? I don’t see her doing it the way you described. Doesn’t your family hold each other affectionately? Or have you ever held the arm of a person while taking a group picture, specially on top of stairs? Sometimes I wonder about these statements. SMH!!!!
CB
I couldn't agree more with you CB. I think that some people are reacting very uncivilized to everything and are wondering at everything. Small world perhaps.
DeleteMerci beaucoup, Myriam! Salut...
DeleteThe hate-drenched comments will eventually cause them to release ZERO photos. And we know who to blame. Shame on you!
DeleteTrès beau couple.
ReplyDeleteApart from the bride - all my attention is on Stephanie, the mother of groom, looking so radiant, put together and elegant. Good job Stephanie your eldest is now a married man.
ReplyDeleteNia
I wish a happy marriage to Louis Ducruet and Marie Chevallier !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bride at civil and religious wedding. Louis' mother Stephanie looks very good dressed, perhaps a bit short at my opinion. Her ex husband's new wife looks arrogant on this picture. Beatrice, Caroline and Tatiana wear gorgeous hats. I don't like Charlotte here at all and husband Dimitri not smiling as usual but at least he was present ! Charlène??? Sorry but she should have been there with Albert. She is not only part of the family but prince Albert's wife. He reigns over Monaco and she is the "first lady" !
ReplyDeleteLove the jumpsuit by Rosa Clara so flattering and fits her perfectly .Marie s wedding gown for the church ceremony is not so special and doesn't fit her well. Stephanie , her son and daughters look great and very happy. Congratulations .
ReplyDeleteAgree. Rosa Clara wins also for the dress of the privet civil wedding ceremony .
DeleteStephanie is beautiful, nice outfit , normale outfit for the first time.
ReplyDeleteWhere is her bridal bouquet for the church/relgious ceremony? And I do find it odd that neither Princess Charlene nor the twins attended.
ReplyDeleteThe bride and groom placed the bride's bouquet and grooms boutonnière on the graves of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace after the ceremony before they left the cathedral. That is why Marie does not have her bouquet.
DeleteRoyalty fan
DeleteNo DSC, it must be them, on the 1st, and 3rd photo's, in the far right corner, very blurry. But yes I do miss Charlene, on the group photo's
The bride looks somewhat lost, standing there on the church steps, both arms hanging down, while her new husband hides his arm behind his back and her mother in law has her son in firm grip trying to pull him over to her. But no chance, Stéphanie, the bride has wrapped her trail around his legs, she won't let him go ;-))
ReplyDeleteSorry for this comment outside Fashion theme. But this must be one of the weirdest wedding group photos I have ever seen. And I don't get it. Is it the only one? Normally a photographer would shoot dozens or hundreds of photos and you choose the best.
Fashionwise there is not much to say. Unfortunately the bridal gown does not suit the bride. These princess style dresses only work on a slender figure with narrow waist. You can see on the drawing, how it was meant to be. Note to future brides: don't let your sister in law co-design your dress if she does not know, what she is doing.
The photos from the civil ceremony are nice though. They seem to be a nice and normal couple.
Agree. The bridal gown does not suite the bride.
DeleteHahaha. Very well said. Thank you.
DeleteRoyalty fan
DeleteTotally agree with you, Beth, and Doni. And I miss Charlene, on the group photo's
Agreed about the Gown!
DeleteBride's hair looked awful at the religious ceremony too...
Stephanie tries too hard to be in her twenties, thought the yellow jumpsuit at the civil ceremony was atrocious and Charlotte's dress just too short.
Everyone here, please post your wedding photos so we may critique them.
DeleteCharlene is with Albert since both away. They would attend otherwise. They both are close to Stephanie.Stephanie look more beautiful the older she gets.More peaceful.
ReplyDeleteAlbert is there, just behind the bridal couple and next to Caroline.
DeleteAlbert was there. Charlene wasn't although local newspapers said she did attend the reception.
DeleteNow I see Albert. Its touching that Stephanie often needs her chlldrens arm for support.I love to see her Beauty sans pony tale and hair down.
DeleteIn the first photo, is it possible that's Charlene and Albert and the twins in the far right corner? It's blurry but it looks like them holding the kids.
ReplyDeleteThe woman looks too short for being Charlene who is even a bit taller than Albert.
DeleteNo, these are other people.
DeleteExactly!
DeleteThe children looked a bit toddler like to me - I wondered if it those were Pierre's children - but the man could definitely be Prince Albert. I can't see enough of the woman to tell who it is.
DeleteRoyalty fan
DeleteHeather, I agree with you, it has to be them, in the far, far right corner
ReplyDeleteShe left her bouquet on Louis grandparents tombstones.
DeleteLovely pics of the wedding. If I had to choose the jumpsuit for the civil marriage I like the best. From the actual Wedding gown i like the bottom part not so much the top part. The evening reception dress looks very nice, but way too much fabric in the back, now this is only MO of course, also think Charlotte's dress is a bit too short and too dark for the happy occasion. I wish them lots of HAPPINESS.
ReplyDeletemmmh ... beside Albert and Caroline nobody seems to smile from the bottoms of their hearts (big picture) ... just wondering ...
ReplyDeleteMiracle: on my word - you are right...
DeleteOnly a few can support your sucess without envy.
DeleteI guess it could be malicious joy because of Stephanie clinging the arms of her son.
DeleteI love Marie's dress for her civil wedding. Unfortunately the two dresses from saturday (ceremonial and party) don't suit her body type. The two dresses have a perfect shape for an hourglass body type. Marie has too small breasts for an hourglass body type. She has a triangle body shape instead, especially wide shoulders. Hope she will recognize it one day. Not a good choice for the great day. Sorry. If you create a dress, please start with it's shape.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful bride! While I agree with those who feel that the religious wedding gown could have been more flattering, she still looked very nice, and I like that she was not trying for an elaborate, over-the-top regal look -- just the look of a happy bride simply and attractively dressed for a summer wedding. I do wish she had opted for a more polished hairstyle, though.
ReplyDeleteThat said, IF I were going to reach back in time as stylist and make changes, I would put cap sleeves on the evening reception dress and lengthen its skirt to floor-length, which imo would have made it a stunning religious wedding gown for Marie. The jumpsuit would be ideal for the evening reception, and for the civil wedding, a Chanel suit. Voila!
Why groom doesn't wear sox to the evening ? First time I see something like that.
ReplyDeleteAnon. at 2.57 AM, it seems to be the trend nowadays. Missing of culture and real style.
Delete@ Rainha Leonor, I would agree "no sox" on casual outing but wearing suit looks terrible to me.
DeleteKristina
To me too. I have sons that age, so I know quite well what is 'in' nowadays. But this hurts the eyes. It is a total lack of style and sense.
DeleteNew photos are added. Thanks to Helen Electra. But now I must say, the group photo with the parents of the civil wedding is even worse. This cheap looking canary yellow thing, that Stéphanie is wearing is just so out of place. It hurts the eyes. Poor Marie Chevallier that these are the photos to remember her wedding day.
DeleteThere are two rules for a wedding and everybody with a human sense knows them: don't wear white and don't try to outshine the bride. The striking yellow that Stéphanie wears draws the attention of the eye away from the bride. One does not do that. Think before you leave the house! Marie's parents got it quite right, decent classic outfit in decent color scheme. Although I would have preferred to see both mothers in a knee length day dress instead of trousers. There are shops that are specialized on wedding outfits, why not go there and get professional advice?
And then the cringy clinging to her son again, with both hands!! Poor Louis, poor Marie. And the photographer did not see that something in this group photo is wrong? And would arrange the group in a better way. Did not even see that Louis' sleeve was torn up?
I mean I know it and I get it, that Stéphanie had some hard times in the past and that her children mean everything to her. But what shows through in these pictures seems just so wrong to me. I am about the same age as Stéphanie and have children the same age, maybe that is why I react so sensitive to the message of theses pictures. Many of us have had their losses and their traumas, but there is also help out there. One has to work through this and let the children go and live their lives. And let them have their wedding day - it's not yours.
Sorry for this rant, it just went through with me. I will stick to fashion comments in the future again.
Kristina, that's what I wanted to express! I know this very well as a Mom and Granny myself.
DeleteAnd thanks for the new pics, dear Editor: Princess Caroline and Beatrice Borromeo are looking wonderful! Fit for a (royal) wedding...
Hi Beth! You are so right. I couldn't believe my eyes. Louis seems somehow torn between his wife and his mother on this photo. Very strange indeed.
DeleteAngieF
Beth, I don't think you have to be sorry for saying what you think!
ReplyDeleteOh. my. god. This must be the worst fitting wedding gown ever. Only topped by the horrible hairstyle of the bride. But there are many guests that sport the most horrendous look, too so maybe it was the dresscode.
ReplyDeleteNo need for such negativity... or sarcasm
DeleteYou are funny, you made me laugh :-))
DeleteAs said in an interview, that there dog be there too. Love the pic with them and Pancake. Every looked great. Congrats to the couple.
ReplyDeleteCharlene was not in the cathedral and neither were the twins. Albert and Caroline were standing together inside the church.
ReplyDeleteCharlene attended the reception in the evening.
I am pretty sure if all the people who comment here would have been invited to the wedding we all would look the best, best dresses in the best styles!
ReplyDeleteKristina
I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong about the bridesmaids dresses -- and then I saw it: every one of them has a different neckline. It makes for a very disjointed effect.
Dommage!
Too many sad people writing too many sad comments. Is this some kind of world championship competition of the most nasty and rude comment? A good look at the mirror wouldn't be a bad idea. These people have feelings like everybody else. Envy is a terrible illnes, but you can get psychotherapy for it.
ReplyDeleteThe photo in on line Vogue of Caroline and Stephanie with only daughters and daughterlaws is just Lovely.Great group picture.Beautiful gowns. They are dressed for the evening reception and Stephanie looks gorgeous and resembles Grace more thank ever.
ReplyDeleteI wish this young couple long years of happiness. Stephanie makes me uncomfortable. Marie's husband's arms should be only hers on her wedding day!
ReplyDeleteI also hope that Charlene has a very good excuse not to attend the Church wedding which is the most important thing for a catholic family, way above the civil one or the reception. Otherwise her attitude is unforgivable.
MARIE
